“And they will never wish for it, ever”; they will never wish for it.

The preceding verse asked those who considered the home of the Hereafter exclusively theirs to wish for death if they were truthful. Now the reason for their avoidance is given in a brief phrase:

“Because of what their hands have sent ahead”; because of what they themselves have sent forward through their deeds.

That is, what they themselves have done, sending its consequences ahead for their own future. The tongue can speak of salvation, Paradise, and a special standing with The God, but deeds cannot be changed by claims.

This warning is just as alive for us. We may speak of mercy, intercession, and salvation, yet in private we know better what we have sent ahead for our tomorrow. Elsewhere, the Qur’an says:

“Rather, the human being has insight into their own self.”
Indeed, a person sees their own self clearly.
Al-Qiyamah 75:14

“And The God knows the wrongdoers”; the one true deity knows those who do wrong.

Once again, the criterion is neither the name of a people nor a religious title; the verse speaks of wrongdoers. The God knows what we have done and what we hide behind our claims.

The Hereafter is not built by claims. What we send ahead for it is what we will one day face.
