بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Al-Layl 92:1

وَالَّيلِ إِذا يَغشىٰ

By the night when it covers,

Al-Layl 92:2

وَالنَّهارِ إِذا تَجَلّىٰ

and by the day when it becomes radiant,

Al-Layl 92:3

وَما خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالأُنثىٰ

and by the One who created the male and the female,

Al-Layl 92:4

إِنَّ سَعيَكُم لَشَتّىٰ

Your striving is indeed diverse.

Al-Layl 92:5

فَأَمّا مَن أَعطىٰ وَاتَّقىٰ

As for the one who gave and was mindful,

Al-Layl 92:6

وَصَدَّقَ بِالحُسنىٰ

and affirmed the finest,

Al-Layl 92:7

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِليُسرىٰ

We will ease him toward the way of ease.

Al-Layl 92:8

وَأَمّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاستَغنىٰ

But as for the one who withheld and considered himself self-sufficient,

Al-Layl 92:9

وَكَذَّبَ بِالحُسنىٰ

and denied the finest,

Al-Layl 92:10

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلعُسرىٰ

We will ease him toward the way of hardship.

Al-Layl 92:11

وَما يُغنى عَنهُ مالُهُ إِذا تَرَدّىٰ

And his wealth will not benefit him when he falls.

Al-Layl 92:12

إِنَّ عَلَينا لَلهُدىٰ

Indeed, guidance rests with Us,

Al-Layl 92:13

وَإِنَّ لَنا لَلـٔاخِرَةَ وَالأولىٰ

and indeed, the hereafter and the first life belong to Us.

Al-Layl 92:14

فَأَنذَرتُكُم نارًا تَلَظّىٰ

So I have warned you of a blazing fire.

Al-Layl 92:15

لا يَصلىٰها إِلَّا الأَشقَى

None will burn in it but the most wretched,

Al-Layl 92:16

الَّذى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّىٰ

who denied and turned away.

Al-Layl 92:17

وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الأَتقَى

And the most mindful will be kept away from it,

Al-Layl 92:18

الَّذى يُؤتى مالَهُ يَتَزَكّىٰ

who gives his wealth to purify himself.

Al-Layl 92:19

وَما لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِعمَةٍ تُجزىٰ

And no one has a favor with him to be repaid,

Al-Layl 92:20

إِلَّا ابتِغاءَ وَجهِ رَبِّهِ الأَعلىٰ

only seeking the face of his Lord, the Most High,

Al-Layl 92:21

وَلَسَوفَ يَرضىٰ

and he will surely be pleased.
