About Forqan

Independent Quran research, translation and reflection

Forqan is a personally maintained, independent educational project for studying the Quran in Persian and English. It brings together verse-by-verse translation and reflection, Quranic Arabic roots, concepts, and thematic articles.

Why this project exists

Our purpose is to make the text, the reasoning behind an interpretation, and opportunities to question that interpretation accessible to readers. Published reflections are human understandings, open to examination and correction; they are not presented as the final word on the Quran.

How we study

The approach examines Quranic language, context, and related passages, with attention to word roots and a distinction between translation and reflection. The methodology explains these choices and their limits; the introduction describes the faith orientation behind the project.

What you can explore

Read available surahs and verses, compare translations and reflections, explore Arabic word roots and Quranic concepts, and follow thematic studies. Persian and English materials are linked where corresponding versions are available.

Constructive criticism and public discussion

Tabsira is Forqan’s companion discussion space. Readers can question a specific verse interpretation or article, offer textual evidence, and propose alternative readings. Agreement with Forqan is not a condition of participation. Public discussion gives readers a place to examine objections and responses alongside the original work.

Read public discussions without an account, or sign in to contribute under the participation principles. Discussion is an opportunity for review and learning; it is not a claim of formal academic peer review. A comment does not automatically change the original text.

Responsibility and corrections

Responsibility for Forqan’s published material rests with its author. Technical and AI tools do not replace that responsibility or establish the correctness of an interpretation. Readers are encouraged to identify the passage in question, explain their concern, and provide supporting evidence so that a correction can be considered.
