In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Hud 11:1
ۚ
Alif, Lam, Ra. A Book whose signs have been made firm, then set out in detail, from One who is Wise, Aware.
Hud 11:2
ۚ
Worship none but The God. I am a warner and bearer of good news to you from Him.
Hud 11:3
ۖ
Ask your Lord for forgiveness, then turn back to Him. He will grant you good enjoyment until an appointed term and give every possessor of merit his merit. If you turn away, I fear for you the punishment of a great day.
Hud 11:4
ۖ
Your return is to The God, and He has power over all things.
Hud 11:5
ۚ ۚ
Indeed, they fold their breasts to hide from Him. Indeed, when they cover themselves with their garments, He knows what they conceal and what they reveal. He knows what is within the breasts.
Hud 11:6
ۚ
There is no creature on earth whose provision does not rest with The God. He knows its dwelling and its place of deposit. All is in a clear Book.
Hud 11:7
ۗ
He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and His Throne was upon the water, to test you as to which of you is best in deeds. If you say, “You will be raised after death,” those who disbelieve will surely say, “This is only clear magic.”
Hud 11:8
ۗ
If We delay the punishment from them for a numbered period, they will surely say, “What holds it back?” Indeed, on the day it comes to them, it will not be turned away from them, and what they mocked will surround them.
Hud 11:9
If We let a person taste mercy from Us, then withdraw it from him, he becomes despairing and ungrateful.
Hud 11:10
ۚ
If We let him taste prosperity after hardship has touched him, he will surely say, “The evils have gone from me.” He becomes exultant and boastful.
Hud 11:11
Except those who are patient and do righteous deeds; for them are forgiveness and a great reward.
Hud 11:12
ۚ ۚ
Perhaps you would leave aside some of what is revealed to you, and your breast is constrained by it because they say, “Why has no treasure been sent down to him, or an angel come with him?” You are only a warner, and The God is trustee over all things.
Hud 11:13
ۖ
Or do they say, “He fabricated it”? Say, “Then bring ten fabricated surahs like it, and call upon whoever you can apart from The God, if you are truthful.”
Hud 11:14
ۖ
If they do not respond to you, know that it was sent down with the knowledge of The God, and that there is no god but Him. Will you then submit?
Hud 11:15
Whoever desires the worldly life and its adornment, We repay their deeds in full therein, and they will not be shortchanged therein.
Hud 11:16
ۖ
They are those who have nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire. What they wrought therein has come to nothing, and what they used to do is void.
Hud 11:17
ۚ ۚ ۚ ۚ
What of one who stands upon clear evidence from his Lord, followed by a witness from Him, and before it was the Book of Moses, a guide and a mercy? They believe in it. Whoever among the factions disbelieves in it, the Fire is his promised place. So have no doubt about it. It is the truth from your Lord, but most people do not believe.
Hud 11:18
ۚ ۚ
Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about The God? They will be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, “These are those who lied about their Lord.” Indeed, the curse of The God is upon the unjust—
Hud 11:19
Those who hinder from the way of The God and seek to make it crooked, and who disbelieve in the Hereafter.
Hud 11:20
ۘ ۚ
They could not escape on earth, nor did they have any protectors apart from The God. The punishment will be multiplied for them. They could not hear, nor did they see.
Hud 11:21
They are those who lost themselves, and what they used to invent vanished from them.
Hud 11:22
Without doubt, they are the greatest losers in the Hereafter.
Hud 11:23
ۖ
Those who believe, do righteous deeds, and humble themselves before their Lord are companions of the Garden, remaining in it.
Hud 11:24
ۚ ۚ
The likeness of the two groups is that of the blind and deaf, and the seeing and hearing. Are the two equal in likeness? Will you not take heed?
Hud 11:25
We sent Noah to his people: “I am a clear warner to you—
Hud 11:26
ۖ
Worship none but The God. I fear for you the punishment of a painful day.”
Hud 11:27
The chiefs of his people who disbelieved said, “We see you only as a human like us, and we see that only the lowliest among us follow you, at first sight. We see no merit in you over us. Rather, we think you are liars.”
Hud 11:28
He said, “My people, consider: if I stand upon clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me mercy from Himself that has been obscured from you, shall we compel you to accept it while you dislike it?
Hud 11:29
ۖ ۚ ۚ
My people, I ask you for no wealth for it. My reward rests only with The God. I will not drive away those who believe; they will meet their Lord. But I see you as a people acting ignorantly.
Hud 11:30
ۚ
My people, who would help me against The God if I drove them away? Will you not take heed?
Hud 11:31
ۖ ۖ
I do not tell you that I possess the treasures of The God, nor do I know the unseen, nor do I say that I am an angel. Nor do I say of those your eyes disdain that The God will never give them good. The God knows best what is within them. Then I would indeed be among the unjust.”
Hud 11:32
They said, “Noah, you have argued with us and prolonged your argument. Bring us what you promise us, if you are truthful.”
Hud 11:33
He said, “Only The God will bring it to you, if He wills, and you cannot escape.
Hud 11:34
ۚ
My counsel will not benefit you, even if I wish to advise you, if The God wishes to lead you astray. He is your Lord, and to Him you will be returned.”
Hud 11:35
ۖ
Or do they say, “He fabricated it”? Say, “If I fabricated it, my guilt rests upon me, and I am free of the guilt you incur.”
Hud 11:36
It was revealed to Noah: “None of your people will believe except those who have already believed. So do not grieve over what they used to do.
Hud 11:37
ۚ
Build the ship under Our eyes and by Our revelation, and do not address Me concerning those who did wrong. They will be drowned.”
Hud 11:38
ۚ
He was building the ship, and whenever chiefs from his people passed him, they mocked him. He said, “If you mock us, we will mock you as you mock.
Hud 11:39
You will come to know whom a punishment will disgrace, and upon whom an enduring punishment will descend.”
Hud 11:40
ۚ
When Our command came and the oven overflowed, We said, “Carry aboard it two mates of each, and your family, except those against whom the word has already gone forth, and those who believe.” Only a few had believed with him.
Hud 11:41
ۚ
He said, “Board it. In the name of The God are its sailing and its anchoring. My Lord is Forgiving, Merciful.”
Hud 11:42
It sailed with them through waves like mountains. Noah called to his son, who was apart: “My son, board with us, and do not be with the disbelievers.”
Hud 11:43
ۚ ۚ
He said, “I will take refuge on a mountain that will protect me from the water.” He said, “Today there is no protector against the command of The God, except one who shows mercy.” The wave came between them, and he was among the drowned.
Hud 11:44
ۖ
It was said, “Earth, swallow your water; sky, cease.” The water subsided, the affair was concluded, and it settled upon Judi. It was said, “Away with the unjust people.”
Hud 11:45
Noah called upon his Lord and said, “My Lord, my son is of my family. Your promise is true, and You are the wisest of judges.”
Hud 11:46
ۖ ۖ ۖ
He said, “Noah, he is not of your family. It is an unrighteous deed. So do not ask Me for what you have no knowledge of. I admonish you lest you be among the ignorant.”
Hud 11:47
ۖ
He said, “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking You for what I have no knowledge of. Unless You forgive me and have mercy on me, I will be among the losers.”
Hud 11:48
ۚ
It was said, “Noah, descend with peace from Us and blessings upon you and upon communities from those with you. There are also communities We will grant enjoyment, then a painful punishment from Us will touch them.”
Hud 11:49
ۖ ۖ ۖ
These are tidings of the unseen that We reveal to you. Neither you nor your people knew them before this. So be patient. The outcome belongs to the mindful.
Hud 11:50
ۚ ۖ
And to Aad, their brother Hud. He said, “My people, worship The God. You have no god other than Him. You are only fabricators.
Hud 11:51
ۖ ۚ
My people, I ask you for no reward for it. My reward rests only with the One who brought me into being. Will you not reason?
Hud 11:52
My people, ask your Lord for forgiveness, then turn back to Him. He will send the sky upon you in abundant rain and add strength to your strength. Do not turn away as guilty ones.”
Hud 11:53
They said, “Hud, you have brought us no clear evidence. We will not abandon our gods on your word, nor will we believe you.
Hud 11:54
ۗ
We say only that some of our gods have afflicted you with harm.” He said, “I call The God to witness, and you bear witness that I am free of what you associate—
Hud 11:55
ۖ
Apart from Him. So scheme against me, all of you, and give me no respite.
Hud 11:56
ۚ ۚ
I have relied on The God, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature whose forelock He does not hold. My Lord is on a straight path.
Hud 11:57
ۚ ۚ
If you turn away, I have conveyed to you what I was sent to you with. My Lord will replace you with another people, and you will not harm Him at all. My Lord is Guardian over all things.”
Hud 11:58
When Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him by mercy from Us, and We saved them from a harsh punishment.
Hud 11:59
ۖ
That was Aad. They rejected the signs of their Lord, disobeyed His messengers, and followed the command of every stubborn tyrant.
Hud 11:60
ۗ ۗ
They were pursued by a curse in this world and on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, Aad disbelieved in their Lord. Away with Aad, the people of Hud.
Hud 11:61
ۚ ۖ ۚ
And to Thamud, their brother Salih. He said, “My people, worship The God. You have no god other than Him. He brought you into being from the earth and made you its cultivators. Ask Him for forgiveness, then turn back to Him. My Lord is Near, Responsive.”
Hud 11:62
ۖ
They said, “Salih, before this you were a source of hope among us. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worship? We are in troubling doubt about what you call us to.”
Hud 11:63
ۖ
He said, “My people, consider: if I stand upon clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me mercy from Himself, who would help me against The God if I disobeyed Him? You would add nothing to me but loss.
Hud 11:64
My people, this she-camel of The God is a sign for you. Leave her to eat on the earth of The God, and do not touch her with harm, lest a near punishment seize you.”
Hud 11:65
ۖ
They hamstrung her, and he said, “Enjoy yourselves in your home for three days. That is a promise not to be belied.”
Hud 11:66
ۗ
When Our command came, We saved Salih and those who believed with him by mercy from Us, and from the disgrace of that day. Your Lord is the Strong, the Mighty.
Hud 11:67
The blast seized those who did wrong, and they lay fallen in their homes—
Hud 11:68
ۗ ۗ
As though they had never dwelt there. Indeed, Thamud disbelieved in their Lord. Away with Thamud.
Hud 11:69
ۖ ۖ
Our messengers came to Abraham with good news. They said, “Peace.” He said, “Peace,” and soon brought a roasted calf.
Hud 11:70
ۚ
When he saw their hands did not reach for it, he found them unfamiliar and felt fear of them. They said, “Do not fear. We have been sent to the people of Lot.”
Hud 11:71
His wife was standing, and she laughed. We gave her good news of Isaac, and after Isaac, Jacob.
Hud 11:72
ۖ
She said, “Woe to me! Shall I bear a child when I am an old woman and this husband of mine is an old man? This is a wondrous thing.”
Hud 11:73
ۖ ۚ
They said, “Do you wonder at the command of The God? The mercy of The God and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. He is Praiseworthy, Glorious.”
Hud 11:74
When the fear left Abraham and the good news reached him, he argued with Us concerning the people of Lot.
Hud 11:75
Abraham was forbearing, much given to sighing, and turning back.
Hud 11:76
ۖ ۖ
“Abraham, turn away from this. Your Lord’s command has come. A punishment that cannot be turned back is coming to them.”
Hud 11:77
When Our messengers came to Lot, he was distressed on their account and felt unable to cope with them. He said, “This is a difficult day.”
Hud 11:78
ۚ ۖ ۖ
His people came rushing toward him; before this they used to do evil deeds. He said, “My people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. Be mindful of The God, and do not disgrace me concerning my guests. Is there no right-minded man among you?”
Hud 11:79
They said, “You know we have no claim to your daughters, and you know what we want.”
Hud 11:80
He said, “If only I had strength against you, or could take refuge in a strong support.”
Hud 11:81
ۖ ۖ ۚ ۚ
They said, “Lot, we are messengers of your Lord. They will never reach you. Set out with your family during a part of the night, and let none of you turn back, except your wife. What strikes them will strike her. Their appointed time is the morning. Is the morning not near?”
Hud 11:82
When Our command came, We turned its upper part beneath it and rained upon it stones of baked clay, layer upon layer—
Hud 11:83
ۖ
Marked with your Lord. It is not far from the unjust.
Hud 11:84
ۚ ۖ ۚ
And to Midian, their brother Shuayb. He said, “My people, worship The God. You have no god other than Him. Do not diminish the measure or the balance. I see you in prosperity, and I fear for you the punishment of an encompassing day.
Hud 11:85
ۖ
My people, give full measure and weight with justice. Do not deprive people of their things, and do not act wickedly on earth, spreading corruption.
Hud 11:86
ۚ
What remains from The God is better for you, if you are believers. I am not a guardian over you.”
Hud 11:87
ۖ
They said, “Shuayb, does your prayer command you that we abandon what our fathers worship, or stop doing as we wish with our wealth? You are indeed the forbearing, the right-minded!”
Hud 11:88
ۚ ۚ ۚ ۚ
He said, “My people, consider: if I stand upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has provided me with good provision from Himself. I do not wish to go against you by doing what I forbid you. I desire only reform as far as I can. My success is only through The God. On Him I have relied, and to Him I turn back.
Hud 11:89
ۚ
My people, do not let your opposition to me bring upon you the like of what struck the people of Noah, the people of Hud, or the people of Salih. The people of Lot are not far from you.
Hud 11:90
ۚ
Ask your Lord for forgiveness, then turn back to Him. My Lord is Merciful, Loving.”
Hud 11:91
ۖ ۖ
They said, “Shuayb, we do not understand much of what you say, and we see you as weak among us. Were it not for your clan, we would stone you. You have no power over us.”
Hud 11:92
ۖ
He said, “My people, is my clan more esteemed by you than The God, whom you have cast behind your backs? My Lord encompasses what you do.
Hud 11:93
ۖ ۖ
My people, act according to your position; I too am acting. You will come to know whom a punishment will disgrace, and who is a liar. Watch; I too am watching with you.”
Hud 11:94
When Our command came, We saved Shuayb and those who believed with him by mercy from Us. The blast seized those who did wrong, and they lay fallen in their homes—
Hud 11:95
ۗ
As though they had never dwelt there. Away with Midian, as Thamud was sent away.
Hud 11:96
We sent Moses with Our signs and clear authority—
Hud 11:97
ۖ
To Pharaoh and his chiefs. They followed Pharaoh’s command, but Pharaoh’s command was not rightly guided.
Hud 11:98
ۖ
He will lead his people on the Day of Resurrection and bring them into the Fire. Wretched is the watering place they are brought to.
Hud 11:99
ۚ
They were pursued by a curse in this and on the Day of Resurrection. Wretched is the gift bestowed.
Hud 11:100
ۖ
These are tidings of the towns that We recount to you. Some of them stand, and some have been cut down.
Hud 11:101
ۖ ۖ
We did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. Their gods, whom they called upon apart from The God, availed them nothing when your Lord’s command came. They added nothing to them but ruin.
Hud 11:102
ۚ
Such is your Lord’s seizure when He seizes the towns while they are unjust. His seizure is painful, severe.
Hud 11:103
ۚ
In that is a sign for whoever fears the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a day for which people will be gathered, and that is a day witnessed.
Hud 11:104
We delay it only until a numbered term.
Hud 11:105
ۚ
On the day it comes, no soul will speak except by His permission. Some of them will be wretched, and some happy.
Hud 11:106
As for those who are wretched, they will be in the Fire, with groaning exhalation and inhalation therein—
Hud 11:107
ۚ
Remaining therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills. Your Lord does whatever He wills.
Hud 11:108
ۖ
As for those who are made happy, they will be in the Garden, remaining therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills—a gift uninterrupted.
Hud 11:109
ۚ ۚ
Have no doubt concerning what these people worship. They worship only as their fathers worshipped before. We will give them their share in full, undiminished.
Hud 11:110
ۚ ۚ
We gave Moses the Book, and differences arose concerning it. Had a word from your Lord not preceded, judgment would have been made between them. They are in troubling doubt about it.
Hud 11:111
ۚ
Your Lord will surely repay all of them in full for their deeds. He is aware of what they do.
Hud 11:112
ۚ
Remain upright as you have been commanded, along with those who have turned back with you, and do not transgress. He sees what you do.
Hud 11:113
Do not lean toward those who have done wrong, lest the Fire touch you. You have no protectors apart from The God, and then you will not be helped.
Hud 11:114
ۚ ۚ
Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and in the near parts of the night. Good deeds remove evil deeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.
Hud 11:115
Be patient, for The God does not let the reward of those who do good go to waste.
Hud 11:116
ۗ
Why were there not, among the generations before you, people of remaining virtue who forbade corruption on earth, except a few of those We saved among them? Those who did wrong pursued the luxury they had been given, and they were guilty.
Hud 11:117
Your Lord would not destroy the towns unjustly while their people were reforming.
Hud 11:118
ۖ
Had your Lord willed, He would have made people one community. They will continue to differ—
Hud 11:119
ۚ ۗ
Except those on whom your Lord has mercy. For this He created them. Your Lord’s word has been fulfilled: “I will fill Hell with jinn and people together.”
Hud 11:120
ۚ
Each account of the messengers that We recount to you is that by which We strengthen your heart. In this, the truth has come to you, and an admonition and a reminder for the believers.
Hud 11:121
Say to those who do not believe, “Act according to your position; we too are acting.
Hud 11:122
Wait; we too are waiting.”
Hud 11:123
ۚ
The unseen of the heavens and the earth belongs to The God, and to Him the whole affair is returned. Worship Him and rely on Him. Your Lord is not heedless of what you do.
