In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
An-Naml 27:1
ۚ
Ta, Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and a clarifying Book.
An-Naml 27:2
Guidance and good news for the believers,
An-Naml 27:3
Who establish prayer, give zakat, and have certainty in the Hereafter.
An-Naml 27:4
Those who do not believe in the Hereafter—We have adorned their deeds for them, so they wander blindly.
An-Naml 27:5
Those are the ones who will have an evil punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers.
An-Naml 27:6
And you indeed receive the Quran from One wise and knowing.
An-Naml 27:7
When Moses said to his family: I have noticed a fire. I will bring you news from it, or bring you a burning brand, so that you may warm yourselves.
An-Naml 27:8
When he reached it, a call was made: Blessed is whoever is in the fire and whoever is around it. And glory be to The God, the Lord of all worlds.
An-Naml 27:9
Moses, it is I, The God, the Mighty, the Wise.
An-Naml 27:10
ۚ ۚ
And throw down your staff. When he saw it moving as though it were a snake, he turned and fled without returning. Moses, do not fear. The messengers do not fear in My presence,
An-Naml 27:11
Except one who has done wrong, then replaced evil with good; I am forgiving and merciful.
An-Naml 27:12
ۖ ۚ
And put your hand into your garment’s opening; it will come out white without harm, among nine signs to Pharaoh and his people. They were a defiantly disobedient people.
An-Naml 27:13
When Our illuminating signs came to them, they said: This is clear sorcery.
An-Naml 27:14
ۚ
And they rejected them in wrongdoing and arrogance, although their souls were certain of them. So see how the corrupters ended.
An-Naml 27:15
ۖ
We gave David and Solomon knowledge, and they said: Praise belongs to The God, who favored us above many of His believing servants.
An-Naml 27:16
ۖ ۖ
And Solomon inherited from David and said: People, we have been taught the speech of birds and given of everything. This is indeed evident favor.
An-Naml 27:17
Solomon’s soldiers of jinn, humans, and birds were gathered for him and held in order.
An-Naml 27:18
Until, when they reached the valley of the ants, an ant said: Ants, enter your dwellings, lest Solomon and his soldiers crush you without realizing.
An-Naml 27:19
He smiled, laughing at her words, and said: My Lord, inspire me to thank You for the favor You have bestowed upon me and my parents, and to do righteous work that pleases You. And admit me, through Your mercy, among Your righteous servants.
An-Naml 27:20
He inspected the birds and said: Why do I not see the hoopoe? Or is he among the absent?
An-Naml 27:21
I will certainly punish him severely, or slaughter him, unless he brings me clear authority.
An-Naml 27:22
He did not stay away long, then said: I have encompassed what you have not encompassed, and I have brought you certain news from Sheba.
An-Naml 27:23
I found a woman ruling them, who has been given of everything and has a great throne.
An-Naml 27:24
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of The God. Satan has adorned their deeds for them and barred them from the way, so they are not guided,
An-Naml 27:25
So that they do not prostrate to The God, who brings out what is hidden in the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you reveal.
An-Naml 27:26
۩
The God—there is no god except Him, Lord of the great Throne.
An-Naml 27:27
He said: We will see whether you have spoken truthfully or are among the liars.
An-Naml 27:28
Take this letter of mine and cast it to them, then withdraw from them and see what they return.
An-Naml 27:29
She said: Chiefs, an honorable letter has been cast to me.
An-Naml 27:30
It is from Solomon, and it is: In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
An-Naml 27:31
Do not exalt yourselves against me, and come to me in submission.
An-Naml 27:32
She said: Chiefs, advise me in my affair. I do not decide an affair until you are present.
An-Naml 27:33
They said: We possess strength and great fighting power, and the command is yours. So consider what you will command.
An-Naml 27:34
ۖ
She said: When kings enter a settlement, they ruin it and make its honored people lowly. And so they do.
An-Naml 27:35
I will send them a gift and see what the envoys bring back.
An-Naml 27:36
When he came to Solomon, he said: Are you supplying me with wealth? What The God has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, you rejoice in your gift.
An-Naml 27:37
Return to them. We will certainly come to them with armies they cannot face, and drive them out of there humbled and abased.
An-Naml 27:38
He said: Chiefs, which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?
An-Naml 27:39
ۖ
A powerful one among the jinn said: I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and I am strong and trustworthy for it.
An-Naml 27:40
ۚ ۖ ۖ
One who had knowledge from the Book said: I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you. When he saw it settled beside him, he said: This is from my Lord’s favor, to test me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whoever gives thanks does so for himself; and whoever is ungrateful, my Lord is self-sufficient and generous.
An-Naml 27:41
He said: Make her throne unfamiliar to her; we will see whether she finds her way or is among those who do not.
An-Naml 27:42
ۖ ۚ
When she came, she was asked: Is your throne like this? She said: It is as though it were the same. And we were given knowledge before her and were in submission.
An-Naml 27:43
ۖ
What she worshipped apart from The God had held her back. She was from a disbelieving people.
An-Naml 27:44
ۖ ۚ ۗ
She was told: Enter the palace. When she saw it, she thought it was deep water and uncovered her shins. He said: It is a palace made smooth with glass. She said: My Lord, I have wronged myself, and with Solomon I submit to The God, Lord of all worlds.
An-Naml 27:45
We sent to Thamud their brother Salih: Worship The God. Then they became two groups disputing.
An-Naml 27:46
ۖ
He said: My people, why do you seek to hasten evil before good? Why do you not seek forgiveness from The God, so that you may receive mercy?
An-Naml 27:47
ۚ ۖ
They said: We regard you and those with you as a bad omen. He said: Your omen is with The God. Rather, you are a people being tested.
An-Naml 27:48
In the city there were nine men who spread corruption in the earth and did not set things right.
An-Naml 27:49
They said: Swear to one another by The God that we will attack him and his family by night, then tell his guardian: We did not witness his family’s destruction, and we are truthful.
An-Naml 27:50
They devised a scheme, and We devised a scheme, while they were unaware.
An-Naml 27:51
So see how their scheme ended: We destroyed them and their people, all together.
An-Naml 27:52
ۗ
Those are their houses, deserted because they did wrong. There is indeed a sign in this for people who know.
An-Naml 27:53
And We saved those who believed and were mindful.
An-Naml 27:54
And Lot, when he said to his people: Do you commit indecency while you see?
An-Naml 27:55
ۚ
Do you approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people acting ignorantly.
An-Naml 27:56
ۖ
His people’s only answer was to say: Drive Lot’s family out of your settlement. They are people who seek purity.
An-Naml 27:57
So We saved him and his family, except his wife, whom We destined to be among those who remained.
An-Naml 27:58
ۖ
And We rained a rain upon them. How evil was the rain of those who had been warned.
An-Naml 27:59
ۗ
Say: Praise belongs to The God, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is The God better, or what they associate with Him?
An-Naml 27:60
ۗ ۚ
Or the One who created the heavens and the earth and sent down water for you from the sky, with which We grew delightful gardens whose trees you could not grow? Is there a god alongside The God? Rather, they are a people who assign equals.
An-Naml 27:61
ۗ ۚ
Or the One who made the earth a resting place, placed rivers within it, set firm mountains for it, and put a barrier between the two seas? Is there a god alongside The God? Rather, most of them do not know.
An-Naml 27:62
ۗ ۚ
Or the One who answers the distressed when he calls upon Him, removes harm, and makes you successors on the earth? Is there a god alongside The God? How little you remember.
An-Naml 27:63
ۗ ۚ
Or the One who guides you through the darkness of land and sea, and sends the winds as good news ahead of His mercy? Is there a god alongside The God? Exalted is The God above what they associate with Him.
An-Naml 27:64
ۗ ۚ
Or the One who begins creation, then repeats it, and provides for you from the sky and the earth? Is there a god alongside The God? Say: Bring your proof, if you are truthful.
An-Naml 27:65
ۚ
Say: No one in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except The God, and they do not perceive when they will be raised.
An-Naml 27:66
ۚ ۖ
Rather, their knowledge of the Hereafter has reached its limit. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are blind to it.
An-Naml 27:67
Those who disbelieved said: When we and our fathers have become dust, will we really be brought out?
An-Naml 27:68
We and our fathers were promised this before. These are only tales of the earlier peoples.
An-Naml 27:69
Say: Travel through the earth and see how the guilty ended.
An-Naml 27:70
Do not grieve over them, or be distressed by what they scheme.
An-Naml 27:71
And they say: When is this promise, if you are truthful?
An-Naml 27:72
Say: Perhaps some of what you seek to hasten has drawn close to you.
An-Naml 27:73
Your Lord is indeed gracious to people, but most of them do not give thanks.
An-Naml 27:74
And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they reveal.
An-Naml 27:75
There is nothing hidden in the sky or the earth that is not in a clear book.
An-Naml 27:76
This Quran recounts to the Children of Israel most of what they disagree about.
An-Naml 27:77
And it is indeed guidance and mercy for the believers.
An-Naml 27:78
ۚ
Your Lord will decide between them by His judgment, and He is the Mighty, the Knowing.
An-Naml 27:79
ۖ
So rely upon The God. You are upon clear truth.
An-Naml 27:80
You cannot make the dead hear, nor make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs.
An-Naml 27:81
ۖ
Nor can you guide the blind out of their error. You can make none hear except those who believe in Our signs, and they submit.
An-Naml 27:82
When the word falls upon them, We will bring out for them a creature from the earth that speaks to them, that people had no certainty in Our signs.
An-Naml 27:83
And the day We gather from every community a group of those who deny Our signs, and they are held in order,
An-Naml 27:84
Until, when they come, He says: Did you deny My signs without encompassing them in knowledge, or what were you doing?
An-Naml 27:85
And the word falls upon them because they did wrong, so they do not speak.
An-Naml 27:86
ۚ
Have they not seen that We made the night for them to rest in, and the day illuminating? There are indeed signs in this for people who believe.
An-Naml 27:87
ۚ
And the day the trumpet is blown, whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified, except whom The God wills. And all will come to Him humbled.
An-Naml 27:88
ۚ ۚ
You see the mountains and think them motionless, while they pass like clouds. The workmanship of The God, who has perfected everything. He is aware of what you do.
An-Naml 27:89
Whoever brings a good deed will have better than it, and they will be secure from terror that day.
An-Naml 27:90
And whoever brings evil, their faces will be cast down into the Fire. Are you repaid for anything except what you used to do?
An-Naml 27:91
ۖ
I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom everything belongs. And I have been commanded to be among those who submit,
An-Naml 27:92
ۖ ۖ
And to recite the Quran. Whoever is guided is guided only for himself; and whoever strays, say: I am only one of the warners.
An-Naml 27:93
ۚ
And say: Praise belongs to The God. He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. Your Lord is not unaware of what you do.
