·The Confederates·73 Verses

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Al-Ahzab 33:1

ۗ

O Prophet, be mindful of The God and do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites. Indeed, The God is Knowing, Wise.

Al-Ahzab 33:2

ۚ

And follow what is revealed to you from your Lord. Indeed, The God is aware of what you do.

Al-Ahzab 33:3

ۚ

And put your trust in The God. The God is sufficient as a trustee.

Al-Ahzab 33:4

ۚ ۚ ۚ ۖ

The God has not placed two hearts within any man, nor has He made your wives whom you declare to be like your mothers your mothers, nor has He made your adopted sons your sons. That is your saying with your mouths. And The God speaks the truth and guides to the way.

Al-Ahzab 33:5

ۚ ۚ ۚ

Call them by their fathers; that is more just with The God. But if you do not know their fathers, they are your brothers in religion and your associates. There is no blame upon you for what you have done by mistake, but for what your hearts intended. And The God is Forgiving, Merciful.

Al-Ahzab 33:6

ۖ ۗ ۚ

The Prophet has a greater claim upon the believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers. And blood relatives have a greater claim upon one another in the Book of The God than the believers and the emigrants, except that you may do kindness to your allies. That is inscribed in the Book.

Al-Ahzab 33:7

ۖ

And when We took from the prophets their covenant, and from you, and from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus son of Mary; and We took from them a solemn covenant,

Al-Ahzab 33:8

ۚ

so that He may question the truthful about their truthfulness. And He has prepared a painful punishment for the disbelievers.

Al-Ahzab 33:9

ۚ

O you who believe, remember the favor of The God upon you when armies came against you, and We sent against them a wind and armies you did not see. And The God was seeing what you did.

Al-Ahzab 33:10

When they came against you from above you and from below you, and when eyes swerved and hearts reached the throats, and you thought various thoughts about The God.

Al-Ahzab 33:11

There the believers were tested and shaken with a severe shaking.

Al-Ahzab 33:12

And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was disease said: The God and His messenger promised us nothing but delusion.

Al-Ahzab 33:13

ۚ ۖ

And when a group of them said: People of Yathrib, there is no place for you to stay, so return. And a group of them sought the Prophet’s permission, saying: Our houses are exposed, though they were not exposed. They wanted only to flee.

Al-Ahzab 33:14

And if they had been entered upon from its sides, then asked for sedition, they would have undertaken it and would have delayed only a little.

Al-Ahzab 33:15

ۚ

And they had already covenanted with The God before that they would not turn their backs. And the covenant with The God will be asked about.

Al-Ahzab 33:16

Say: Flight will not benefit you if you flee from death or killing; and then you will be granted enjoyment only a little.

Al-Ahzab 33:17

ۚ

Say: Who can protect you against The God if He intends harm for you, or intends mercy for you? And they will find no guardian or helper for themselves besides The God.

Al-Ahzab 33:18

ۖ

The God knows those among you who hinder, and those who say to their brothers: Come to us. And they come to battle only a little,

Al-Ahzab 33:19

ۖ ۖ ۚ ۚ

being miserly toward you. When fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes rolling like one overcome by death. Then when fear departs, they lash you with sharp tongues, being miserly toward good. Those have not believed, so The God has nullified their deeds. And that is easy for The God.

Al-Ahzab 33:20

ۖ ۖ

They think the confederates have not gone. And if the confederates come, they would wish to be out among the desert Arabs, asking about your news. And if they were among you, they would fight only a little.

Al-Ahzab 33:21

You certainly have in the messenger of The God a good example, for whoever hopes for The God and the Last Day and remembers The God much.

Al-Ahzab 33:22

ۚ

And when the believers saw the confederates, they said: This is what The God and His messenger promised us, and The God and His messenger spoke the truth. And it increased them only in faith and submission.

Al-Ahzab 33:23

ۖ ۖ

Among the believers are men who were true to what they covenanted with The God. Among them are those who have fulfilled their vow, and among them are those who wait; and they have not changed in any way.

Al-Ahzab 33:24

ۚ

So that The God may reward the truthful for their truthfulness and punish the hypocrites if He wills, or turn to them. Indeed, The God is Forgiving, Merciful.

Al-Ahzab 33:25

ۚ ۚ

And The God turned back those who disbelieved in their rage, having attained no good. And The God spared the believers the fighting. And The God is Strong, Mighty.

Al-Ahzab 33:26

And He brought down from their fortresses those of the People of the Book who supported them, and cast terror into their hearts; a group you killed, and a group you took captive.

Al-Ahzab 33:27

ۚ

And He made you inherit their land, their homes, their possessions, and a land you had not trodden. And The God is capable of all things.

Al-Ahzab 33:28

O Prophet, say to your wives: If you desire the worldly life and its adornment, then come, I will provide for you and release you with a gracious release.

Al-Ahzab 33:29

But if you desire The God, His messenger, and the abode of the Hereafter, then The God has prepared a great reward for those among you who do good.

Al-Ahzab 33:30

ۚ

O wives of the Prophet, whoever among you commits a clear indecency, the punishment will be doubled for her. And that is easy for The God.

Al-Ahzab 33:31

And whoever among you is devoutly obedient to The God and His messenger and does righteousness, We will give her reward twice, and We have prepared for her a noble provision.

Al-Ahzab 33:32

ۚ

O wives of the Prophet, you are not like any other women, if you are mindful. So do not be soft in speech, lest one in whose heart is disease should desire, and speak appropriate words.

Al-Ahzab 33:33

ۖ ۚ

And remain in your homes, and do not display yourselves as in the display of the former ignorance. And establish prayer, give zakat, and obey The God and His messenger. The God only intends to remove impurity from you, people of the household, and to purify you thoroughly.

Al-Ahzab 33:34

ۚ

And remember what is recited in your homes of the verses of The God and wisdom. Indeed, The God is Subtle, Aware.

Al-Ahzab 33:35

Indeed, men who submit and women who submit, believing men and believing women, devoutly obedient men and devoutly obedient women, truthful men and truthful women, patient men and patient women, humble men and humble women, charitable men and charitable women, fasting men and fasting women, men who guard their private parts and women who guard them, and men who remember The God much and women who remember Him: The God has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.

Al-Ahzab 33:36

ۗ

It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when The God and His messenger have decided a matter, to have a choice in their affair. And whoever disobeys The God and His messenger has gone clearly astray.

Al-Ahzab 33:37

ۖ ۚ

And when you said to the one whom The God had favored and whom you had favored: Keep your wife with you and be mindful of The God, while you concealed within yourself what The God was to disclose, and feared people, though The God had more right that you should fear Him. Then when Zayd had fulfilled his need of her, We married her to you so that there would be no constraint upon believers concerning the wives of their adopted sons when they have fulfilled their need of them. And the command of The God is to be accomplished.

Al-Ahzab 33:38

ۖ ۚ

There is no constraint upon the Prophet in what The God has ordained for him. Such was the practice of The God among those who passed before. And the command of The God is a determined decree.

Al-Ahzab 33:39

ۗ

Those who convey the messages of The God and fear Him, and fear no one except The God. And The God is sufficient as a reckoner.

Al-Ahzab 33:40

ۗ

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but the messenger of The God and the seal of the prophets. And The God knows all things.

Al-Ahzab 33:41

O you who believe, remember The God with much remembrance,

Al-Ahzab 33:42

and glorify Him morning and evening.

Al-Ahzab 33:43

ۚ

He is the One who sends blessings upon you, as do His angels, to bring you out of darkness into light. And He is Merciful toward the believers.

Al-Ahzab 33:44

ۚ

Their greeting on the day they meet Him is “Peace.” And He has prepared for them a noble reward.

Al-Ahzab 33:45

O Prophet, We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of good tidings, and a warner,

Al-Ahzab 33:46

and as one who calls to The God by His permission, and as an illuminating lamp.

Al-Ahzab 33:47

And give the believers good tidings that they will have a great bounty from The God.

Al-Ahzab 33:48

ۚ

And do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and leave their harm aside, and put your trust in The God. The God is sufficient as a trustee.

Al-Ahzab 33:49

ۖ

O you who believe, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, you have no waiting period to count for them. So provide for them and release them with a gracious release.

Al-Ahzab 33:50

ۗ ۗ

O Prophet, We have made lawful for you your wives to whom you have given their bridal dues, and what your right hand possesses of what The God has returned to you, and the daughters of your paternal uncle, the daughters of your paternal aunts, the daughters of your maternal uncle, and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you, and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet and the Prophet wishes to marry her, exclusively for you, apart from the believers. We know what We have prescribed for them concerning their wives and what their right hands possess, so that there may be no constraint upon you. And The God is Forgiving, Merciful.

Al-Ahzab 33:51

ۖ ۚ ۚ ۚ

You may defer whom you will of them and receive whom you will with you. And there is no blame upon you if you seek any of those you had set aside. That is more likely for their eyes to be comforted, for them not to grieve, and for all of them to be content with what you have given them. And The God knows what is in your hearts. And The God is Knowing, Forbearing.

Al-Ahzab 33:52

ۗ

Women are not lawful for you after this, nor may you exchange them for other wives, even if their beauty pleases you, except what your right hand possesses. And The God is Watchful over all things.

Al-Ahzab 33:53

ۚ ۖ ۚ ۚ ۚ ۚ

O you who believe, do not enter the Prophet’s homes unless you are permitted for a meal, without waiting for its preparation. But when you are invited, enter; and when you have eaten, disperse, without lingering for conversation. Indeed, that was hurting the Prophet, and he was shy of you; but The God is not shy of the truth. And when you ask them for an item, ask them from behind a screen. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts. It is not for you to hurt the messenger of The God, nor ever to marry his wives after him. Indeed, that is grave with The God.

Al-Ahzab 33:54

Whether you disclose a thing or conceal it, indeed, The God knows all things.

Al-Ahzab 33:55

ۗ ۚ

There is no blame upon them concerning their fathers, their sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, or what their right hands possess. And be mindful of The God. Indeed, The God is Witness over all things.

Al-Ahzab 33:56

ۚ

Indeed, The God and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and greet him with full greetings of peace.

Al-Ahzab 33:57

Indeed, those who hurt The God and His messenger, The God has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating punishment.

Al-Ahzab 33:58

And those who hurt believing men and believing women for what they have not earned have borne a slander and a clear sin.

Al-Ahzab 33:59

ۚ ۗ

O Prophet, tell your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers to draw their outer garments over themselves. That is more likely that they will be recognized and not harmed. And The God is Forgiving, Merciful.

Al-Ahzab 33:60

If the hypocrites, those in whose hearts is disease, and those who spread alarm in the city do not desist, We will surely stir you against them. Then they will remain your neighbors in it only a little,

Al-Ahzab 33:61

ۖ

accursed; wherever they are found, they will be seized and killed utterly.

Al-Ahzab 33:62

ۖ

Such was the practice of The God among those who passed before. And you will find no change in the practice of The God.

Al-Ahzab 33:63

ۖ ۚ

People ask you about the Hour. Say: Knowledge of it is only with The God. And what makes you know? Perhaps the Hour is near.

Al-Ahzab 33:64

Indeed, The God has cursed the disbelievers and prepared for them a blaze,

Al-Ahzab 33:65

ۖ

abiding in it forever, finding neither guardian nor helper.

Al-Ahzab 33:66

On the day their faces are turned about in the Fire, they will say: If only we had obeyed The God and obeyed the messenger.

Al-Ahzab 33:67

And they will say: Our Lord, we obeyed our masters and our great ones, and they led us astray from the way.

Al-Ahzab 33:68

Our Lord, give them double the punishment, and curse them with a great curse.

Al-Ahzab 33:69

ۚ

O you who believe, do not be like those who hurt Moses; then The God cleared him of what they said. And he was honored with The God.

Al-Ahzab 33:70

O you who believe, be mindful of The God and speak sound words,

Al-Ahzab 33:71

ۗ

He will set your deeds right for you and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys The God and His messenger has attained a great success.

Al-Ahzab 33:72

ۖ

We offered the trust to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to bear it and were apprehensive of it; and the human being bore it. Indeed, he was most unjust, most ignorant.

Al-Ahzab 33:73

ۗ

So that The God may punish the hypocritical men and hypocritical women, the men who associate partners and the women who associate partners, and turn to the believing men and believing women. And The God is Forgiving, Merciful.
