In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Saba 34:1
ۚ
Praise belongs to The God, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And praise in the Hereafter belongs to Him. He is the Wise, the Aware.
Saba 34:2
ۚ
He knows what enters the earth and what comes out of it, what descends from the sky and what ascends into it. And He is the Merciful, the Forgiving.
Saba 34:3
ۖ ۖ
And those who disbelieved said: The Hour will not come to us. Say: Yes, by my Lord, the Knower of the unseen, it will surely come to you. Not the weight of a particle in the heavens or the earth escapes Him, nor anything smaller or greater, except that it is in a clear Book,
Saba 34:4
ۚ
so that He may reward those who believed and did righteous deeds. Those will have forgiveness and a noble provision.
Saba 34:5
But those who strove against Our signs, seeking to thwart them, will have a punishment of painful torment.
Saba 34:6
And those who have been given knowledge see that what has been sent down to you from your Lord is the truth and guides to the path of the Mighty, the Praiseworthy.
Saba 34:7
And those who disbelieved said: Shall we point you to a man who tells you that, when you have been utterly torn apart, you will indeed be in a new creation?
Saba 34:8
ۗ
Has he fabricated a lie against The God, or is there madness in him? Rather, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are in punishment and far-reaching error.
Saba 34:9
ۚ ۚ
Have they not looked at what is before them and behind them of heaven and earth? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause pieces of the sky to fall upon them. Indeed, in that is a sign for every servant who turns back.
Saba 34:10
ۖ ۖ
And We certainly gave David bounty from Us: O mountains, echo with him, and the birds too. And We softened iron for him,
Saba 34:11
ۖ ۖ
Make ample coats of mail, and measure the links. And do righteousness; indeed, I see what you do.
Saba 34:12
ۖ ۖ ۖ
And for Solomon, the wind: its morning journey was a month and its evening journey a month. And We made the spring of copper flow for him. And among the jinn were those who worked before him by his Lord’s permission. And whoever among them deviated from Our command, We made him taste the punishment of the blaze.
Saba 34:13
ۚ ۚ
They made for him whatever he wished of sanctuaries, statues, bowls like reservoirs, and firmly set cauldrons. Work in gratitude, family of David. And few of My servants are grateful.
Saba 34:14
ۖ
Then when We decreed death for him, nothing indicated his death to them except a creature of the earth eating his staff. Then when he fell, it became clear to the jinn that, had they known the unseen, they would not have remained in the humiliating punishment.
Saba 34:15
ۖ ۖ ۚ
There was certainly a sign for Sheba in their dwelling place: two gardens, on the right and the left. Eat of your Lord’s provision and be grateful to Him. A good land and a forgiving Lord.
Saba 34:16
But they turned away, so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and exchanged their two gardens for two gardens bearing bitter fruit, tamarisks, and a few lote trees.
Saba 34:17
ۖ
Thus We repaid them for their ingratitude. And do We repay anyone but the deeply ungrateful?
Saba 34:18
ۖ
And between them and the towns We had blessed, We placed visible towns and measured the journey between them: Travel through them by night and day in safety.
Saba 34:19
ۚ
But they said: Our Lord, lengthen the distances between our journeys. And they wronged themselves, so We made them tales and scattered them utterly. Indeed, in that are signs for everyone steadfastly patient and grateful.
Saba 34:20
And Iblis certainly found his assumption about them confirmed, so they followed him, except for a group of believers.
Saba 34:21
ۗ
And he had no authority over them, except so that We might know who believes in the Hereafter from who is in doubt about it. And your Lord is Guardian over all things.
Saba 34:22
ۖ
Say: Call upon those you claim besides The God. They possess not the weight of a particle in the heavens or the earth, nor do they have any share in them, nor does He have any helper among them.
Saba 34:23
ۚ ۖ ۖ
And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one to whom He has given permission. Until, when fear is removed from their hearts, they say: What did your Lord say? They say: The truth. And He is the Most High, the Great.
Saba 34:24
ۖ ۖ
Say: Who provides for you from the heavens and the earth? Say: The God. And indeed, either we or you are upon guidance or in clear error.
Saba 34:25
Say: You will not be asked about what we have committed, nor will we be asked about what you do.
Saba 34:26
Say: Our Lord will gather us together, then judge between us in truth. And He is the Knowing Judge.
Saba 34:27
ۖ ۚ
Say: Show me those you have joined to Him as partners. By no means! Rather, He is The God, the Mighty, the Wise.
Saba 34:28
And We have sent you only to all people, as a bearer of good tidings and a warner, but most people do not know.
Saba 34:29
And they say: When will this promise be, if you are truthful?
Saba 34:30
Say: You have an appointed day which you cannot delay by an hour or bring forward.
Saba 34:31
ۗ
And those who disbelieved said: We will never believe in this Quran, nor in what came before it. And if you could see when the wrongdoers are held before their Lord, passing words back and forth! Those who were deemed weak say to those who were arrogant: Were it not for you, we would have been believers.
Saba 34:32
ۖ
Those who were arrogant say to those who were deemed weak: Did we turn you away from guidance after it came to you? Rather, you were offenders.
Saba 34:33
ۚ ۚ
And those who were deemed weak say to those who were arrogant: Rather, it was the scheming by night and day, when you commanded us to disbelieve in The God and set up equals to Him. And they conceal their regret when they see the punishment. And We place shackles around the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they repaid except for what they used to do?
Saba 34:34
And We sent no warner to any town without its affluent people saying: We disbelieve in what you have been sent with.
Saba 34:35
And they said: We have more wealth and children, and we will not be punished.
Saba 34:36
Say: My Lord expands provision for whom He wills and restricts it, but most people do not know.
Saba 34:37
And neither your wealth nor your children bring you near to Us, but whoever believes and does righteousness: those will have a multiplied reward for what they have done, and they will be secure in the chambers.
Saba 34:38
And those who strive against Our signs, seeking to thwart them, will be brought into the punishment.
Saba 34:39
ۚ ۖ
Say: My Lord expands provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts it for him. And whatever you spend, He replaces it. And He is the best of providers.
Saba 34:40
And on the day He gathers them all, then says to the angels: Was it you these people used to worship?
Saba 34:41
ۖ ۖ
They say: Glory be to You! You are our guardian, apart from them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them believed in them.
Saba 34:42
So today none of you has power to benefit or harm another. And We say to those who did wrong: Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny.
Saba 34:43
ۚ
And when Our clear verses are recited to them, they say: This is only a man who wants to turn you away from what your fathers worshipped. And they say: This is only a fabricated falsehood. And those who disbelieved said of the truth when it came to them: This is only clear magic.
Saba 34:44
ۖ
And We have not given them books which they study, nor sent them any warner before you.
Saba 34:45
ۖ
And those before them denied, while these have not reached a tenth of what We gave those. Yet they denied My messengers. So how was My repudiation?
Saba 34:46
ۖ ۚ ۚ
Say: I advise you of only one thing: stand for The God, in pairs and singly, then reflect. There is no madness in your companion. He is only a warner to you before a severe punishment.
Saba 34:47
ۖ ۖ
Say: Whatever reward I have asked of you is yours. My reward is only with The God. And He is Witness over all things.
Saba 34:48
Say: My Lord casts the truth, the Knower of the unseen things.
Saba 34:49
Say: The truth has come, and falsehood neither originates nor restores.
Saba 34:50
ۖ ۚ
Say: If I go astray, I go astray only against myself; and if I am guided, it is through what my Lord reveals to me. Indeed, He is Hearing, Near.
Saba 34:51
And if you could see when they are terrified, with no escape, and are seized from a nearby place.
Saba 34:52
And they say: We believe in it. But how can they reach it from a distant place?
Saba 34:53
ۖ
And they had disbelieved in it before, casting at the unseen from a distant place.
Saba 34:54
ۚ
And a barrier is placed between them and what they desire, as was done with their counterparts before. Indeed, they were in disquieting doubt.
