Surah Fussilat

Discuss on Tabsira

·Explained in Detail·54 Verses

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Fussilat 41:1

Ha, Mim.

Fussilat 41:2

A sending down from the Entirely Merciful, the Merciful,

Fussilat 41:3

a Book whose verses have been explained in detail, an Arabic Quran for people who know,

Fussilat 41:4

bringing good news and warning. But most of them turn away, so they do not hear.

Fussilat 41:5

They said, “Our hearts are in coverings against what you call us to, in our ears is heaviness, and between us and you is a veil. So act; we too are acting.”

Fussilat 41:6

ۗ

Say, “I am only a human like you. It is revealed to me that your god is One God. So be upright toward Him and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate partners,

Fussilat 41:7

those who do not give zakat and who disbelieve in the Hereafter.”

Fussilat 41:8

Those who believe and do righteous deeds have an unending reward.

Fussilat 41:9

ۚ

Say, “Do you disbelieve in the One who created the earth in two days, and set up equals to Him? That is the Lord of all worlds.”

Fussilat 41:10

He placed firm mountains upon it from above, blessed it, and apportioned its provisions in four days, equally for those who ask.

Fussilat 41:11

Then He turned to the heaven while it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth, “Come willingly or unwillingly.” They said, “We come willingly.”

Fussilat 41:12

ۚ ۚ

He completed them as seven heavens in two days and revealed to each heaven its affair. We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps and provided protection. That is the determination of the Mighty, the Knowing.

Fussilat 41:13

If they turn away, say, “I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt of Ad and Thamud.”

Fussilat 41:14

ۖ

When the messengers came to them from before them and behind them, saying, “Worship none but The God,” they said, “Had our Lord willed, He would have sent down angels. We reject what you have been sent with.”

Fussilat 41:15

ۖ ۖ

As for Ad, they acted arrogantly on earth without right and said, “Who is stronger than us in power?” Did they not see that The God who created them is stronger than them in power? Yet they denied Our signs.

Fussilat 41:16

ۖ ۖ

So We sent upon them a fierce, howling wind during ill-fated days, to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in worldly life. The punishment of the Hereafter is more disgraceful, and they will not be helped.

Fussilat 41:17

As for Thamud, We guided them, but they preferred blindness to guidance. So the thunderbolt of humiliating punishment seized them for what they used to earn.

Fussilat 41:18

And We saved those who believed and were mindful.

Fussilat 41:19

On the day the enemies of The God are gathered toward the Fire, they will be held in order,

Fussilat 41:20

until, when they reach it, their hearing, their eyes, and their skins testify against them about what they used to do.

Fussilat 41:21

ۖ

They will say to their skins, “Why did you testify against us?” They will say, “The God who gave speech to everything gave us speech. He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.”

Fussilat 41:22

You did not conceal yourselves against your hearing, your eyes, or your skins testifying against you. Rather, you thought that The God did not know much of what you did.

Fussilat 41:23

That thought you held about your Lord brought you to ruin, so you became among the losers.

Fussilat 41:24

ۖ

If they endure patiently, the Fire is their dwelling. If they seek restoration to favor, they will not be granted it.

Fussilat 41:25

ۖ

We assigned companions to them who made attractive to them what was before them and behind them. The word came true against them among communities of jinn and humans that passed before them. They were losers.

Fussilat 41:26

Those who disbelieved said, “Do not listen to this Quran, and make noise during it, so that you may prevail.”

Fussilat 41:27

We will surely make those who disbelieved taste a severe punishment, and We will repay them for the worst of what they used to do.

Fussilat 41:28

ۖ ۖ

That is the recompense of the enemies of The God: the Fire. In it they have the home of permanence, as recompense for denying Our signs.

Fussilat 41:29

Those who disbelieved will say, “Our Lord, show us the two among jinn and humans who led us astray. We will put them beneath our feet so that they may be among the lowest.”

Fussilat 41:30

Those who say, “Our Lord is The God,” then remain steadfast—the angels descend upon them: “Do not fear or grieve, and receive good news of the Garden you were promised.

Fussilat 41:31

ۖ

We are your protectors in worldly life and in the Hereafter. There you have whatever your souls desire, and there you have whatever you ask for,

Fussilat 41:32

as a welcome from One Forgiving, Merciful.”

Fussilat 41:33

Who is better in speech than one who calls to The God, does righteousness, and says, “I am among those who submit”?

Fussilat 41:34

ۚ

Good and evil are not equal. Repel with what is better, and suddenly the one between whom and you there is enmity is like a close friend.

Fussilat 41:35

None are granted this except those who are patient, and none are granted it except one with a great share.

Fussilat 41:36

ۖ

If a prompting from Satan stirs you, seek refuge in The God. He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

Fussilat 41:37

ۚ

Among His signs are the night, the day, the sun, and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or the moon, but prostrate to The God who created them, if it is Him you worship.

Fussilat 41:38

۩

If they act arrogantly, those with your Lord glorify Him night and day, and they do not weary.

Fussilat 41:39

ۚ ۚ

Among His signs is that you see the earth subdued, then, when We send water down upon it, it stirs and swells. The One who gives it life is surely the Giver of life to the dead. He has power over all things.

Fussilat 41:40

ۗ ۚ ۖ

Those who deviate concerning Our signs are not hidden from Us. Is one who is cast into the Fire better, or one who comes safely on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you wish. He sees what you do.

Fussilat 41:41

ۖ

Those who rejected the reminder when it came to them—and it is indeed a mighty Book,

Fussilat 41:42

ۖ

falsehood does not approach it from before it or from behind it; a sending down from One Wise, Praiseworthy.

Fussilat 41:43

ۚ

Nothing is said to you except what was said to the messengers before you. Your Lord is Possessor of forgiveness and Possessor of painful penalty.

Fussilat 41:44

ۖ ۗ ۖ ۚ

Had We made it a non-Arabic Quran, they would have said, “Why have its verses not been explained in detail? Non-Arabic and Arabic?” Say, “For those who believe, it is guidance and healing. Those who do not believe have heaviness in their ears, and it is blindness for them. They are called from a distant place.”

Fussilat 41:45

ۗ ۚ

We gave Moses the Book, but differences arose about it. Had a word from your Lord not already gone forth, judgment would have been made between them. They are in disturbing doubt about it.

Fussilat 41:46

ۖ ۗ

Whoever does righteousness, it is for his own good; whoever does evil, it is to his own detriment. Your Lord is not unjust to His servants.

Fussilat 41:47

ۚ ۚ

To Him is referred knowledge of the Hour. No fruits emerge from their coverings, and no female conceives or gives birth, except with His knowledge. On the day He calls to them, “Where are My partners?” they will say, “We declare to You that none of us is a witness.”

Fussilat 41:48

ۖ

What they used to call upon before will vanish from them, and they will realize that they have no escape.

Fussilat 41:49

The human being does not weary of asking for good, but if evil touches him, he is despairing and hopeless.

Fussilat 41:50

ۚ

If We let him taste mercy from Us after hardship has touched him, he says, “This is mine. I do not think the Hour will arise, and if I am returned to my Lord, I will have the best with Him.” We will inform those who disbelieved of what they did, and We will make them taste a harsh punishment.

Fussilat 41:51

When We bestow favor on the human being, he turns away and withdraws to the side. But when evil touches him, he is full of prolonged supplication.

Fussilat 41:52

Say, “Have you considered: if it is from The God, then you reject it, who is further astray than one in far-reaching dissension?”

Fussilat 41:53

ۗ

We will show them Our signs on the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is witness over all things?

Fussilat 41:54

ۗ

Indeed, they are in doubt about meeting their Lord. Indeed, He encompasses all things.
