بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Ghafir 40:1

حم

Ha, Mim.

Ghafir 40:2

تَنزيلُ الكِتٰبِ مِنَ اللَّهِ العَزيزِ العَليمِ

The sending down of the Book is from The God, the Mighty, the Knowing,

Ghafir 40:3

غافِرِ الذَّنبِ وَقابِلِ التَّوبِ شَديدِ العِقابِ ذِى الطَّولِ ۖ لا إِلٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ ۖ إِلَيهِ المَصيرُ

Forgiver of sin and Accepter of repentance, severe in penalty, Possessor of bounty. There is no god except Him. To Him is the destination.

Ghafir 40:4

ما يُجٰدِلُ فى ءايٰتِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الَّذينَ كَفَروا فَلا يَغرُركَ تَقَلُّبُهُم فِى البِلٰدِ

None dispute about the signs of The God except those who disbelieve, so do not let their movement through the lands deceive you.

Ghafir 40:5

كَذَّبَت قَبلَهُم قَومُ نوحٍ وَالأَحزابُ مِن بَعدِهِم ۖ وَهَمَّت كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ بِرَسولِهِم لِيَأخُذوهُ ۖ وَجٰدَلوا بِالبٰطِلِ لِيُدحِضوا بِهِ الحَقَّ فَأَخَذتُهُم ۖ فَكَيفَ كانَ عِقابِ

Before them, the people of Noah and the allied factions after them denied. Every community plotted against its messenger to seize him, and they disputed with falsehood to overthrow the truth with it. So I seized them. How, then, was My penalty?

Ghafir 40:6

وَكَذٰلِكَ حَقَّت كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذينَ كَفَروا أَنَّهُم أَصحٰبُ النّارِ

Thus your Lord’s word came true against those who disbelieved: they are the people of the Fire.

Ghafir 40:7

الَّذينَ يَحمِلونَ العَرشَ وَمَن حَولَهُ يُسَبِّحونَ بِحَمدِ رَبِّهِم وَيُؤمِنونَ بِهِ وَيَستَغفِرونَ لِلَّذينَ ءامَنوا رَبَّنا وَسِعتَ كُلَّ شَىءٍ رَحمَةً وَعِلمًا فَاغفِر لِلَّذينَ تابوا وَاتَّبَعوا سَبيلَكَ وَقِهِم عَذابَ الجَحيمِ

Those who carry the Throne and those around it glorify their Lord with praise, believe in Him, and seek forgiveness for those who believe: “Our Lord, You encompass all things in mercy and knowledge. Forgive those who repent and follow Your path, and protect them from the punishment of the Blaze.

Ghafir 40:8

رَبَّنا وَأَدخِلهُم جَنّٰتِ عَدنٍ الَّتى وَعَدتَهُم وَمَن صَلَحَ مِن ءابائِهِم وَأَزوٰجِهِم وَذُرِّيّٰتِهِم ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ العَزيزُ الحَكيمُ

Our Lord, admit them to the gardens of lasting residence that You promised them, and whoever was righteous among their forefathers, spouses, and descendants. You are the Mighty, the Wise.

Ghafir 40:9

وَقِهِمُ السَّيِّـٔاتِ ۚ وَمَن تَقِ السَّيِّـٔاتِ يَومَئِذٍ فَقَد رَحِمتَهُ ۚ وَذٰلِكَ هُوَ الفَوزُ العَظيمُ

Protect them from evils. Whoever You protect from evils that day, You have shown him mercy. That is the great triumph.”

Ghafir 40:10

إِنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا يُنادَونَ لَمَقتُ اللَّهِ أَكبَرُ مِن مَقتِكُم أَنفُسَكُم إِذ تُدعَونَ إِلَى الإيمٰنِ فَتَكفُرونَ

Those who disbelieved will be called: “The aversion of The God, when you were called to faith and disbelieved, was greater than your aversion to yourselves.”

Ghafir 40:11

قالوا رَبَّنا أَمَتَّنَا اثنَتَينِ وَأَحيَيتَنَا اثنَتَينِ فَاعتَرَفنا بِذُنوبِنا فَهَل إِلىٰ خُروجٍ مِن سَبيلٍ

They will say, “Our Lord, twice You caused us to die and twice You gave us life. We have acknowledged our sins. Is there any way out?”

Ghafir 40:12

ذٰلِكُم بِأَنَّهُ إِذا دُعِىَ اللَّهُ وَحدَهُ كَفَرتُم ۖ وَإِن يُشرَك بِهِ تُؤمِنوا ۚ فَالحُكمُ لِلَّهِ العَلِىِّ الكَبيرِ

That is because, when The God alone was called upon, you disbelieved, but if partners were associated with Him, you believed. So judgment belongs to The God, the Most High, the Great.

Ghafir 40:13

هُوَ الَّذى يُريكُم ءايٰتِهِ وَيُنَزِّلُ لَكُم مِنَ السَّماءِ رِزقًا ۚ وَما يَتَذَكَّرُ إِلّا مَن يُنيبُ

He is the One who shows you His signs and sends down provision for you from the sky. None take heed except those who turn back.

Ghafir 40:14

فَادعُوا اللَّهَ مُخلِصينَ لَهُ الدّينَ وَلَو كَرِهَ الكٰفِرونَ

So call upon The God, making religion sincere for Him, even if the disbelievers dislike it.

Ghafir 40:15

رَفيعُ الدَّرَجٰتِ ذُو العَرشِ يُلقِى الرّوحَ مِن أَمرِهِ عَلىٰ مَن يَشاءُ مِن عِبادِهِ لِيُنذِرَ يَومَ التَّلاقِ

Exalted in ranks, Possessor of the Throne, He casts the spirit of His command upon whom He wills of His servants, to warn of the Day of Meeting,

Ghafir 40:16

يَومَ هُم بٰرِزونَ ۖ لا يَخفىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنهُم شَىءٌ ۚ لِمَنِ المُلكُ اليَومَ ۖ لِلَّهِ الوٰحِدِ القَهّارِ

the day they come forth, with nothing about them hidden from The God. To whom belongs the dominion today? To The God, the One, the Subduer.

Ghafir 40:17

اليَومَ تُجزىٰ كُلُّ نَفسٍ بِما كَسَبَت ۚ لا ظُلمَ اليَومَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَريعُ الحِسابِ

Today every soul is repaid for what it earned. There is no injustice today. The God is swift in reckoning.

Ghafir 40:18

وَأَنذِرهُم يَومَ الـٔازِفَةِ إِذِ القُلوبُ لَدَى الحَناجِرِ كٰظِمينَ ۚ ما لِلظّٰلِمينَ مِن حَميمٍ وَلا شَفيعٍ يُطاعُ

Warn them of the approaching day, when hearts are at the throats, choking back distress. The wrongdoers have no close friend and no intercessor who is heeded.

Ghafir 40:19

يَعلَمُ خائِنَةَ الأَعيُنِ وَما تُخفِى الصُّدورُ

He knows the betrayal of the eyes and what the breasts conceal.

Ghafir 40:20

وَاللَّهُ يَقضى بِالحَقِّ ۖ وَالَّذينَ يَدعونَ مِن دونِهِ لا يَقضونَ بِشَىءٍ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ السَّميعُ البَصيرُ

The God judges in truth, while those they call upon apart from Him judge nothing. The God is the Hearing, the Seeing.

Ghafir 40:21

أَوَلَم يَسيروا فِى الأَرضِ فَيَنظُروا كَيفَ كانَ عٰقِبَةُ الَّذينَ كانوا مِن قَبلِهِم ۚ كانوا هُم أَشَدَّ مِنهُم قُوَّةً وَءاثارًا فِى الأَرضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنوبِهِم وَما كانَ لَهُم مِنَ اللَّهِ مِن واقٍ

Have they not traveled through the earth and seen how those before them ended? They were stronger than them in power and in traces left on earth. But The God seized them for their sins, and they had no protector against The God.

Ghafir 40:22

ذٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُم كانَت تَأتيهِم رُسُلُهُم بِالبَيِّنٰتِ فَكَفَروا فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ قَوِىٌّ شَديدُ العِقابِ

That was because their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so The God seized them. He is Powerful, severe in penalty.

Ghafir 40:23

وَلَقَد أَرسَلنا موسىٰ بِـٔايٰتِنا وَسُلطٰنٍ مُبينٍ

We sent Moses with Our signs and clear authority

Ghafir 40:24

إِلىٰ فِرعَونَ وَهٰمٰنَ وَقٰرونَ فَقالوا سٰحِرٌ كَذّابٌ

to Pharaoh, Haman, and Qarun. They said, “A magician, a persistent liar.”

Ghafir 40:25

فَلَمّا جاءَهُم بِالحَقِّ مِن عِندِنا قالُوا اقتُلوا أَبناءَ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا مَعَهُ وَاستَحيوا نِساءَهُم ۚ وَما كَيدُ الكٰفِرينَ إِلّا فى ضَلٰلٍ

When he brought them the truth from Us, they said, “Kill the sons of those who believe with him and keep their women alive.” But the plot of the disbelievers is only in error.

Ghafir 40:26

وَقالَ فِرعَونُ ذَرونى أَقتُل موسىٰ وَليَدعُ رَبَّهُ ۖ إِنّى أَخافُ أَن يُبَدِّلَ دينَكُم أَو أَن يُظهِرَ فِى الأَرضِ الفَسادَ

Pharaoh said, “Let me kill Moses, and let him call upon his Lord. I fear that he will change your religion or bring corruption into the land.”

Ghafir 40:27

وَقالَ موسىٰ إِنّى عُذتُ بِرَبّى وَرَبِّكُم مِن كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٍ لا يُؤمِنُ بِيَومِ الحِسابِ

Moses said, “I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant person who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning.”

Ghafir 40:28

وَقالَ رَجُلٌ مُؤمِنٌ مِن ءالِ فِرعَونَ يَكتُمُ إيمٰنَهُ أَتَقتُلونَ رَجُلًا أَن يَقولَ رَبِّىَ اللَّهُ وَقَد جاءَكُم بِالبَيِّنٰتِ مِن رَبِّكُم ۖ وَإِن يَكُ كٰذِبًا فَعَلَيهِ كَذِبُهُ ۖ وَإِن يَكُ صادِقًا يُصِبكُم بَعضُ الَّذى يَعِدُكُم ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَهدى مَن هُوَ مُسرِفٌ كَذّابٌ

A believing man from Pharaoh’s family who concealed his faith said, “Will you kill a man because he says, ‘My Lord is The God,’ when he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? If he is lying, his lie is upon him; but if he is truthful, some of what he promises you will strike you. The God does not guide one who is excessive and persistently lying.

Ghafir 40:29

يٰقَومِ لَكُمُ المُلكُ اليَومَ ظٰهِرينَ فِى الأَرضِ فَمَن يَنصُرُنا مِن بَأسِ اللَّهِ إِن جاءَنا ۚ قالَ فِرعَونُ ما أُريكُم إِلّا ما أَرىٰ وَما أَهديكُم إِلّا سَبيلَ الرَّشادِ

My people, the dominion is yours today, prevailing in the land. But who will help us against the might of The God if it comes upon us?” Pharaoh said, “I show you only what I see, and I guide you only to the path of sound judgment.”

Ghafir 40:30

وَقالَ الَّذى ءامَنَ يٰقَومِ إِنّى أَخافُ عَلَيكُم مِثلَ يَومِ الأَحزابِ

The one who believed said, “My people, I fear for you something like the day of the allied factions,

Ghafir 40:31

مِثلَ دَأبِ قَومِ نوحٍ وَعادٍ وَثَمودَ وَالَّذينَ مِن بَعدِهِم ۚ وَمَا اللَّهُ يُريدُ ظُلمًا لِلعِبادِ

like the fate of the people of Noah, Ad, Thamud, and those after them. The God does not desire injustice for His servants.

Ghafir 40:32

وَيٰقَومِ إِنّى أَخافُ عَلَيكُم يَومَ التَّنادِ

My people, I fear for you the Day of Calling,

Ghafir 40:33

يَومَ تُوَلّونَ مُدبِرينَ ما لَكُم مِنَ اللَّهِ مِن عاصِمٍ ۗ وَمَن يُضلِلِ اللَّهُ فَما لَهُ مِن هادٍ

the day you turn back, retreating, with no protector against The God. Whoever The God leads astray has no guide.

Ghafir 40:34

وَلَقَد جاءَكُم يوسُفُ مِن قَبلُ بِالبَيِّنٰتِ فَما زِلتُم فى شَكٍّ مِمّا جاءَكُم بِهِ ۖ حَتّىٰ إِذا هَلَكَ قُلتُم لَن يَبعَثَ اللَّهُ مِن بَعدِهِ رَسولًا ۚ كَذٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن هُوَ مُسرِفٌ مُرتابٌ

Joseph came to you before with clear proofs, yet you remained in doubt about what he brought you, until, when he died, you said, ‘The God will never raise a messenger after him.’ Thus The God leads astray one who is excessive and doubtful,

Ghafir 40:35

الَّذينَ يُجٰدِلونَ فى ءايٰتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيرِ سُلطٰنٍ أَتىٰهُم ۖ كَبُرَ مَقتًا عِندَ اللَّهِ وَعِندَ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا ۚ كَذٰلِكَ يَطبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلىٰ كُلِّ قَلبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبّارٍ

those who dispute about the signs of The God without any authority that has come to them. Great is the aversion to it with The God and with those who believe. Thus The God seals every arrogant, tyrannical heart.”

Ghafir 40:36

وَقالَ فِرعَونُ يٰهٰمٰنُ ابنِ لى صَرحًا لَعَلّى أَبلُغُ الأَسبٰبَ

Pharaoh said, “Haman, build me a tower so that I may reach the ways,

Ghafir 40:37

أَسبٰبَ السَّمٰوٰتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلىٰ إِلٰهِ موسىٰ وَإِنّى لَأَظُنُّهُ كٰذِبًا ۚ وَكَذٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرعَونَ سوءُ عَمَلِهِ وَصُدَّ عَنِ السَّبيلِ ۚ وَما كَيدُ فِرعَونَ إِلّا فى تَبابٍ

the ways of the heavens, and look upon the god of Moses. I think he is lying.” Thus the evil of Pharaoh’s work was made attractive to him, and he was barred from the path. Pharaoh’s plot was only in ruin.

Ghafir 40:38

وَقالَ الَّذى ءامَنَ يٰقَومِ اتَّبِعونِ أَهدِكُم سَبيلَ الرَّشادِ

The one who believed said, “My people, follow me; I will guide you to the path of sound judgment.

Ghafir 40:39

يٰقَومِ إِنَّما هٰذِهِ الحَيوٰةُ الدُّنيا مَتٰعٌ وَإِنَّ الـٔاخِرَةَ هِىَ دارُ القَرارِ

My people, this worldly life is only an enjoyment, and the Hereafter is the abiding home.

Ghafir 40:40

مَن عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً فَلا يُجزىٰ إِلّا مِثلَها ۖ وَمَن عَمِلَ صٰلِحًا مِن ذَكَرٍ أَو أُنثىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤمِنٌ فَأُولٰئِكَ يَدخُلونَ الجَنَّةَ يُرزَقونَ فيها بِغَيرِ حِسابٍ

Whoever does evil is repaid only with its like. Whoever does righteousness, male or female, while believing—those will enter the Garden and be provided for there without reckoning.

Ghafir 40:41

وَيٰقَومِ ما لى أَدعوكُم إِلَى النَّجوٰةِ وَتَدعونَنى إِلَى النّارِ

My people, how is it that I call you to salvation while you call me to the Fire?

Ghafir 40:42

تَدعونَنى لِأَكفُرَ بِاللَّهِ وَأُشرِكَ بِهِ ما لَيسَ لى بِهِ عِلمٌ وَأَنا۠ أَدعوكُم إِلَى العَزيزِ الغَفّٰرِ

You call me to disbelieve in The God and associate with Him what I have no knowledge of, while I call you to the Mighty, the Ever-Forgiving.

Ghafir 40:43

لا جَرَمَ أَنَّما تَدعونَنى إِلَيهِ لَيسَ لَهُ دَعوَةٌ فِى الدُّنيا وَلا فِى الـٔاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ مَرَدَّنا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ المُسرِفينَ هُم أَصحٰبُ النّارِ

Without doubt, what you call me to has no call in this world or in the Hereafter. Our return is to The God, and the excessive are the people of the Fire.

Ghafir 40:44

فَسَتَذكُرونَ ما أَقولُ لَكُم ۚ وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمرى إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَصيرٌ بِالعِبادِ

You will remember what I say to you. I entrust my affair to The God. The God sees His servants.”

Ghafir 40:45

فَوَقىٰهُ اللَّهُ سَيِّـٔاتِ ما مَكَروا ۖ وَحاقَ بِـٔالِ فِرعَونَ سوءُ العَذابِ

So The God protected him from the evils of what they plotted, and terrible punishment engulfed Pharaoh’s people:

Ghafir 40:46

النّارُ يُعرَضونَ عَلَيها غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّا ۖ وَيَومَ تَقومُ السّاعَةُ أَدخِلوا ءالَ فِرعَونَ أَشَدَّ العَذابِ

the Fire, to which they are exposed morning and evening. And on the day the Hour arises: “Admit Pharaoh’s people to the severest punishment.”

Ghafir 40:47

وَإِذ يَتَحاجّونَ فِى النّارِ فَيَقولُ الضُّعَفٰؤُا۟ لِلَّذينَ استَكبَروا إِنّا كُنّا لَكُم تَبَعًا فَهَل أَنتُم مُغنونَ عَنّا نَصيبًا مِنَ النّارِ

When they dispute in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant, “We were your followers. Can you relieve us of any share of the Fire?”

Ghafir 40:48

قالَ الَّذينَ استَكبَروا إِنّا كُلٌّ فيها إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَد حَكَمَ بَينَ العِبادِ

Those who were arrogant will say, “We are all in it. The God has judged between His servants.”

Ghafir 40:49

وَقالَ الَّذينَ فِى النّارِ لِخَزَنَةِ جَهَنَّمَ ادعوا رَبَّكُم يُخَفِّف عَنّا يَومًا مِنَ العَذابِ

Those in the Fire will say to the keepers of Hell, “Call upon your Lord to lighten the punishment for us for one day.”

Ghafir 40:50

قالوا أَوَلَم تَكُ تَأتيكُم رُسُلُكُم بِالبَيِّنٰتِ ۖ قالوا بَلىٰ ۚ قالوا فَادعوا ۗ وَما دُعٰؤُا۟ الكٰفِرينَ إِلّا فى ضَلٰلٍ

They will say, “Did your messengers not come to you with clear proofs?” They will say, “Yes.” They will say, “Then call.” But the call of the disbelievers is only in error.

Ghafir 40:51

إِنّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنا وَالَّذينَ ءامَنوا فِى الحَيوٰةِ الدُّنيا وَيَومَ يَقومُ الأَشهٰدُ

We surely help Our messengers and those who believe in worldly life and on the day the witnesses stand,

Ghafir 40:52

يَومَ لا يَنفَعُ الظّٰلِمينَ مَعذِرَتُهُم ۖ وَلَهُمُ اللَّعنَةُ وَلَهُم سوءُ الدّارِ

the day when the wrongdoers’ excuses will not benefit them. Theirs is the curse and the evil home.

Ghafir 40:53

وَلَقَد ءاتَينا موسَى الهُدىٰ وَأَورَثنا بَنى إِسرٰءيلَ الكِتٰبَ

We gave Moses guidance and made the Children of Israel inherit the Book,

Ghafir 40:54

هُدًى وَذِكرىٰ لِأُولِى الأَلبٰبِ

as guidance and a reminder for those of understanding.

Ghafir 40:55

فَاصبِر إِنَّ وَعدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَاستَغفِر لِذَنبِكَ وَسَبِّح بِحَمدِ رَبِّكَ بِالعَشِىِّ وَالإِبكٰرِ

So be patient. The promise of The God is true. Seek forgiveness for your sin and glorify your Lord with praise in the evening and the morning.

Ghafir 40:56

إِنَّ الَّذينَ يُجٰدِلونَ فى ءايٰتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيرِ سُلطٰنٍ أَتىٰهُم ۙ إِن فى صُدورِهِم إِلّا كِبرٌ ما هُم بِبٰلِغيهِ ۚ فَاستَعِذ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّميعُ البَصيرُ

Those who dispute about the signs of The God without any authority that has come to them have nothing in their breasts but a desire for greatness that they will not attain. So seek refuge in The God. He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

Ghafir 40:57

لَخَلقُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ أَكبَرُ مِن خَلقِ النّاسِ وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَ النّاسِ لا يَعلَمونَ

The creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of people, but most people do not know.

Ghafir 40:58

وَما يَستَوِى الأَعمىٰ وَالبَصيرُ وَالَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَلَا المُسىءُ ۚ قَليلًا ما تَتَذَكَّرونَ

The blind and the seeing are not equal, nor are those who believe and do righteous deeds and the evildoer. How little you take heed!

Ghafir 40:59

إِنَّ السّاعَةَ لَـٔاتِيَةٌ لا رَيبَ فيها وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَ النّاسِ لا يُؤمِنونَ

The Hour is surely coming; there is no doubt about it. But most people do not believe.

Ghafir 40:60

وَقالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادعونى أَستَجِب لَكُم ۚ إِنَّ الَّذينَ يَستَكبِرونَ عَن عِبادَتى سَيَدخُلونَ جَهَنَّمَ داخِرينَ

Your Lord said, “Call upon Me; I will answer you. Those who are too arrogant to worship Me will enter Hell humbled.”

Ghafir 40:61

اللَّهُ الَّذى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الَّيلَ لِتَسكُنوا فيهِ وَالنَّهارَ مُبصِرًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَذو فَضلٍ عَلَى النّاسِ وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَ النّاسِ لا يَشكُرونَ

The God is the One who made the night for you to rest in and the day giving sight. The God is bountiful toward people, but most people are not grateful.

Ghafir 40:62

ذٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُم خٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىءٍ لا إِلٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنّىٰ تُؤفَكونَ

That is The God, your Lord, Creator of all things. There is no god except Him. How then are you turned away?

Ghafir 40:63

كَذٰلِكَ يُؤفَكُ الَّذينَ كانوا بِـٔايٰتِ اللَّهِ يَجحَدونَ

Thus are those who denied the signs of The God turned away.

Ghafir 40:64

اللَّهُ الَّذى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَرضَ قَرارًا وَالسَّماءَ بِناءً وَصَوَّرَكُم فَأَحسَنَ صُوَرَكُم وَرَزَقَكُم مِنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ ۚ ذٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُم ۖ فَتَبارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ العٰلَمينَ

The God is the One who made the earth a resting place for you and the sky a structure, formed you and made your forms good, and provided you with good things. That is The God, your Lord. Blessed is The God, Lord of all worlds.

Ghafir 40:65

هُوَ الحَىُّ لا إِلٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ فَادعوهُ مُخلِصينَ لَهُ الدّينَ ۗ الحَمدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ العٰلَمينَ

He is the Living. There is no god except Him. So call upon Him, making religion sincere for Him. Praise belongs to The God, Lord of all worlds.

Ghafir 40:66

قُل إِنّى نُهيتُ أَن أَعبُدَ الَّذينَ تَدعونَ مِن دونِ اللَّهِ لَمّا جاءَنِىَ البَيِّنٰتُ مِن رَبّى وَأُمِرتُ أَن أُسلِمَ لِرَبِّ العٰلَمينَ

Say, “I have been forbidden to worship those you call upon apart from The God, when clear proofs came to me from my Lord. I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of all worlds.”

Ghafir 40:67

هُوَ الَّذى خَلَقَكُم مِن تُرابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُطفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِن عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخرِجُكُم طِفلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبلُغوا أَشُدَّكُم ثُمَّ لِتَكونوا شُيوخًا ۚ وَمِنكُم مَن يُتَوَفّىٰ مِن قَبلُ ۖ وَلِتَبلُغوا أَجَلًا مُسَمًّى وَلَعَلَّكُم تَعقِلونَ

He is the One who created you from dust, then from a drop, then from a clinging thing, then brings you forth as a child, then for you to reach your full strength, then to become old. Some of you are taken in death before that, and for you to reach a specified term and perhaps reason.

Ghafir 40:68

هُوَ الَّذى يُحيۦ وَيُميتُ ۖ فَإِذا قَضىٰ أَمرًا فَإِنَّما يَقولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكونُ

He is the One who gives life and causes death. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, “Be,” and it is.

Ghafir 40:69

أَلَم تَرَ إِلَى الَّذينَ يُجٰدِلونَ فى ءايٰتِ اللَّهِ أَنّىٰ يُصرَفونَ

Have you not seen those who dispute about the signs of The God, how they are turned away?

Ghafir 40:70

الَّذينَ كَذَّبوا بِالكِتٰبِ وَبِما أَرسَلنا بِهِ رُسُلَنا ۖ فَسَوفَ يَعلَمونَ

Those who denied the Book and what We sent Our messengers with will soon know,

Ghafir 40:71

إِذِ الأَغلٰلُ فى أَعنٰقِهِم وَالسَّلٰسِلُ يُسحَبونَ

when shackles and chains are upon their necks, and they are dragged

Ghafir 40:72

فِى الحَميمِ ثُمَّ فِى النّارِ يُسجَرونَ

through scalding water, then set ablaze in the Fire.

Ghafir 40:73

ثُمَّ قيلَ لَهُم أَينَ ما كُنتُم تُشرِكونَ

Then they will be asked, “Where is what you used to associate

Ghafir 40:74

مِن دونِ اللَّهِ ۖ قالوا ضَلّوا عَنّا بَل لَم نَكُن نَدعوا مِن قَبلُ شَيـًٔا ۚ كَذٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ الكٰفِرينَ

apart from The God?” They will say, “They have vanished from us. Rather, we did not call upon anything before.” Thus The God leads the disbelievers astray.

Ghafir 40:75

ذٰلِكُم بِما كُنتُم تَفرَحونَ فِى الأَرضِ بِغَيرِ الحَقِّ وَبِما كُنتُم تَمرَحونَ

That is because you rejoiced on earth without right, and because you exulted.

Ghafir 40:76

ادخُلوا أَبوٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدينَ فيها ۖ فَبِئسَ مَثوَى المُتَكَبِّرينَ

Enter the gates of Hell, remaining there. What an evil dwelling for the arrogant!

Ghafir 40:77

فَاصبِر إِنَّ وَعدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۚ فَإِمّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعضَ الَّذى نَعِدُهُم أَو نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَينا يُرجَعونَ

So be patient. The promise of The God is true. Whether We show you some of what We promise them or take you in death, to Us they will be returned.

Ghafir 40:78

وَلَقَد أَرسَلنا رُسُلًا مِن قَبلِكَ مِنهُم مَن قَصَصنا عَلَيكَ وَمِنهُم مَن لَم نَقصُص عَلَيكَ ۗ وَما كانَ لِرَسولٍ أَن يَأتِىَ بِـٔايَةٍ إِلّا بِإِذنِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِذا جاءَ أَمرُ اللَّهِ قُضِىَ بِالحَقِّ وَخَسِرَ هُنالِكَ المُبطِلونَ

We sent messengers before you. Among them are those We have recounted to you and those We have not recounted to you. No messenger can bring a sign except by the permission of The God. When the command of The God comes, judgment is made in truth, and there the followers of falsehood lose.

Ghafir 40:79

اللَّهُ الَّذى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَنعٰمَ لِتَركَبوا مِنها وَمِنها تَأكُلونَ

The God is the One who made livestock for you, so that you may ride some and eat from some.

Ghafir 40:80

وَلَكُم فيها مَنٰفِعُ وَلِتَبلُغوا عَلَيها حاجَةً فى صُدورِكُم وَعَلَيها وَعَلَى الفُلكِ تُحمَلونَ

In them are benefits for you, and through them you may fulfill a need within your breasts. On them and on ships you are carried.

Ghafir 40:81

وَيُريكُم ءايٰتِهِ فَأَىَّ ءايٰتِ اللَّهِ تُنكِرونَ

He shows you His signs. Which of the signs of The God do you deny?

Ghafir 40:82

أَفَلَم يَسيروا فِى الأَرضِ فَيَنظُروا كَيفَ كانَ عٰقِبَةُ الَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم ۚ كانوا أَكثَرَ مِنهُم وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَءاثارًا فِى الأَرضِ فَما أَغنىٰ عَنهُم ما كانوا يَكسِبونَ

Have they not traveled through the earth and seen how those before them ended? They were more numerous, stronger in power, and greater in traces left on earth, but what they used to earn did not avail them.

Ghafir 40:83

فَلَمّا جاءَتهُم رُسُلُهُم بِالبَيِّنٰتِ فَرِحوا بِما عِندَهُم مِنَ العِلمِ وَحاقَ بِهِم ما كانوا بِهِ يَستَهزِءونَ

When their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they rejoiced in the knowledge they possessed, and what they used to ridicule engulfed them.

Ghafir 40:84

فَلَمّا رَأَوا بَأسَنا قالوا ءامَنّا بِاللَّهِ وَحدَهُ وَكَفَرنا بِما كُنّا بِهِ مُشرِكينَ

When they saw Our might, they said, “We believe in The God alone, and we reject what we used to associate with Him.”

Ghafir 40:85

فَلَم يَكُ يَنفَعُهُم إيمٰنُهُم لَمّا رَأَوا بَأسَنا ۖ سُنَّتَ اللَّهِ الَّتى قَد خَلَت فى عِبادِهِ ۖ وَخَسِرَ هُنالِكَ الكٰفِرونَ

But their faith did not benefit them when they saw Our might. The established way of The God that has passed among His servants. There the disbelievers lost.
