·The Inevitable Reality·52 Verses

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Al-Haqqah 69:1

The Inevitable Reality!

Al-Haqqah 69:2

What is the Inevitable Reality?

Al-Haqqah 69:3

What will make you know what the Inevitable Reality is?

Al-Haqqah 69:4

Thamud and Ad denied the Striking Event.

Al-Haqqah 69:5

As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overwhelming calamity.

Al-Haqqah 69:6

As for Ad, they were destroyed by a fierce, raging wind.

Al-Haqqah 69:7

He subjected them to it for seven nights and eight days without respite. You would see the people lying fallen, like hollow trunks of palm trees.

Al-Haqqah 69:8

Do you see any remnant of them?

Al-Haqqah 69:9

Pharaoh, those before him, and the overturned towns committed wrongdoing.

Al-Haqqah 69:10

They disobeyed their Lord’s messenger, so He seized them with an overwhelming seizure.

Al-Haqqah 69:11

When the water overflowed, We carried you in the sailing vessel,

Al-Haqqah 69:12

to make it a reminder for you, and so that a receptive ear might retain it.

Al-Haqqah 69:13

When the trumpet is blown with a single blast,

Al-Haqqah 69:14

and the earth and mountains are lifted and crushed with a single crushing,

Al-Haqqah 69:15

on that day the Event will occur.

Al-Haqqah 69:16

The sky will split apart, frail on that day.

Al-Haqqah 69:17

ۚ

The angels will be at its edges, and eight will bear your Lord’s throne above them that day.

Al-Haqqah 69:18

On that day you will be presented; nothing hidden about you will remain hidden.

Al-Haqqah 69:19

As for one given his record in his right hand, he will say, “Here, read my record!

Al-Haqqah 69:20

I knew that I would meet my reckoning.”

Al-Haqqah 69:21

He will be in a pleasing life,

Al-Haqqah 69:22

in a lofty garden,

Al-Haqqah 69:23

whose fruits hang near.

Al-Haqqah 69:24

“Eat and drink with enjoyment for what you sent ahead in days gone by.”

Al-Haqqah 69:25

As for one given his record in his left hand, he will say, “If only I had not been given my record,

Al-Haqqah 69:26

and had not known my reckoning!

Al-Haqqah 69:27

If only it had been the final end!

Al-Haqqah 69:28

ۜ

My wealth has availed me nothing.

Al-Haqqah 69:29

My authority has perished.”

Al-Haqqah 69:30

“Seize him and shackle him,

Al-Haqqah 69:31

then burn him in the blazing fire,

Al-Haqqah 69:32

then bind him in a chain seventy cubits long.

Al-Haqqah 69:33

He did not believe in The God, the Great,

Al-Haqqah 69:34

and did not urge feeding the needy.

Al-Haqqah 69:35

Today he has no close friend here,

Al-Haqqah 69:36

and no food except foul discharge,

Al-Haqqah 69:37

which none but the sinners eat.”

Al-Haqqah 69:38

So I swear by what you see,

Al-Haqqah 69:39

and what you do not see,

Al-Haqqah 69:40

that it is the speech of a noble messenger.

Al-Haqqah 69:41

ۚ

It is not a poet’s speech. How little you believe!

Al-Haqqah 69:42

ۚ

Nor is it a soothsayer’s speech. How little you take heed!

Al-Haqqah 69:43

A revelation from the Lord of all worlds.

Al-Haqqah 69:44

Had he attributed some sayings to Us falsely,

Al-Haqqah 69:45

We would have seized him by the right hand,

Al-Haqqah 69:46

then cut his life artery.

Al-Haqqah 69:47

None of you could have shielded him.

Al-Haqqah 69:48

It is a reminder for the mindful.

Al-Haqqah 69:49

We know that among you are those who deny.

Al-Haqqah 69:50

It is a source of regret for the disbelievers.

Al-Haqqah 69:51

It is the truth of certainty.

Al-Haqqah 69:52

So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great.
