In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Al-Jinn 72:1
Say, “It has been revealed to me that a group of jinn listened and said: We have heard a wondrous Quran,
Al-Jinn 72:2
ۖ
which guides to right conduct, so we believed in it. We will never associate anyone with our Lord.
Al-Jinn 72:3
Exalted is our Lord’s majesty; He has taken neither a spouse nor a child.
Al-Jinn 72:4
The foolish one among us used to say outrageous things about The God.
Al-Jinn 72:5
We had thought that humans and jinn would never speak a lie about The God.
Al-Jinn 72:6
Men from humankind used to seek refuge with men from the jinn, and they increased them in distress.
Al-Jinn 72:7
They thought, as you thought, that The God would never raise anyone.
Al-Jinn 72:8
We sought out the sky and found it filled with stern guards and flaming meteors.
Al-Jinn 72:9
ۖ
We used to sit in places there to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming meteor lying in wait for him.
Al-Jinn 72:10
We do not know whether harm is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends right guidance for them.
Al-Jinn 72:11
ۖ
Some of us are righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we have followed differing paths.
Al-Jinn 72:12
We realized that we cannot thwart The God on earth, nor can we thwart Him by fleeing.
Al-Jinn 72:13
ۖ
When we heard the guidance, we believed in it. Whoever believes in his Lord fears neither deprivation nor oppression.
Al-Jinn 72:14
ۖ
Some of us submit, and some of us turn aside from right. Those who submit have sought right guidance.
Al-Jinn 72:15
As for those who turn aside from right, they will be firewood for Hell.”
Al-Jinn 72:16
If they remained upright on the way, We would give them abundant water to drink,
Al-Jinn 72:17
ۚ
to test them through it. Whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will put him into a grueling punishment.
Al-Jinn 72:18
The places of worship belong to The God, so do not call upon anyone with The God.
Al-Jinn 72:19
When the servant of The God stood up to call upon Him, they almost crowded upon him in a mass.
Al-Jinn 72:20
Say, “I call only upon my Lord and associate no one with Him.”
Al-Jinn 72:21
Say, “I have no power to bring you harm or right guidance.”
Al-Jinn 72:22
Say, “No one will shelter me from The God, and I will find no refuge apart from Him,
Al-Jinn 72:23
ۚ
except conveying from The God and His messages. Whoever disobeys The God and His messenger will have the fire of Hell, remaining in it forever.”
Al-Jinn 72:24
When they see what they are promised, they will know whose helpers are weaker and whose numbers are fewer.
Al-Jinn 72:25
Say, “I do not know whether what you are promised is near, or whether my Lord will set a term for it.”
Al-Jinn 72:26
He knows the unseen and discloses His unseen to no one,
Al-Jinn 72:27
except a messenger whom He has chosen; then He places watchers before him and behind him,
Al-Jinn 72:28
so that He may know that they have conveyed their Lord’s messages. He encompasses what is with them and has counted everything in number.
