بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Nuh 71:1

إِنّا أَرسَلنا نوحًا إِلىٰ قَومِهِ أَن أَنذِر قَومَكَ مِن قَبلِ أَن يَأتِيَهُم عَذابٌ أَليمٌ

We sent Noah to his people: “Warn your people before a painful punishment comes upon them.”

Nuh 71:2

قالَ يٰقَومِ إِنّى لَكُم نَذيرٌ مُبينٌ

He said, “My people, I am a clear warner to you:

Nuh 71:3

أَنِ اعبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقوهُ وَأَطيعونِ

worship The God, be mindful of Him, and obey me.

Nuh 71:4

يَغفِر لَكُم مِن ذُنوبِكُم وَيُؤَخِّركُم إِلىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذا جاءَ لا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَو كُنتُم تَعلَمونَ

He will forgive you of your sins and grant you respite until an appointed time. When The God’s appointed time comes, it cannot be delayed, if only you knew.”

Nuh 71:5

قالَ رَبِّ إِنّى دَعَوتُ قَومى لَيلًا وَنَهارًا

He said, “My Lord, I called my people night and day,

Nuh 71:6

فَلَم يَزِدهُم دُعاءى إِلّا فِرارًا

but my calling only increased their flight.

Nuh 71:7

وَإِنّى كُلَّما دَعَوتُهُم لِتَغفِرَ لَهُم جَعَلوا أَصٰبِعَهُم فى ءاذانِهِم وَاستَغشَوا ثِيابَهُم وَأَصَرّوا وَاستَكبَرُوا استِكبارًا

Whenever I called them so that You might forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and grew utterly arrogant.

Nuh 71:8

ثُمَّ إِنّى دَعَوتُهُم جِهارًا

Then I called them openly.

Nuh 71:9

ثُمَّ إِنّى أَعلَنتُ لَهُم وَأَسرَرتُ لَهُم إِسرارًا

Then I addressed them publicly and spoke to them in private.

Nuh 71:10

فَقُلتُ استَغفِروا رَبَّكُم إِنَّهُ كانَ غَفّارًا

I said: Seek your Lord’s forgiveness, for He is ever forgiving.

Nuh 71:11

يُرسِلِ السَّماءَ عَلَيكُم مِدرارًا

He will send abundant rain upon you from the sky,

Nuh 71:12

وَيُمدِدكُم بِأَموٰلٍ وَبَنينَ وَيَجعَل لَكُم جَنّٰتٍ وَيَجعَل لَكُم أَنهٰرًا

and support you with wealth and sons, and provide gardens for you and provide rivers for you.

Nuh 71:13

ما لَكُم لا تَرجونَ لِلَّهِ وَقارًا

What is the matter with you that you do not regard The God with reverence,

Nuh 71:14

وَقَد خَلَقَكُم أَطوارًا

when He created you in stages?

Nuh 71:15

أَلَم تَرَوا كَيفَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ سَبعَ سَمٰوٰتٍ طِباقًا

Have you not seen how The God created seven heavens in layers,

Nuh 71:16

وَجَعَلَ القَمَرَ فيهِنَّ نورًا وَجَعَلَ الشَّمسَ سِراجًا

and made the moon a light within them and made the sun a lamp?

Nuh 71:17

وَاللَّهُ أَنبَتَكُم مِنَ الأَرضِ نَباتًا

The God caused you to grow from the earth,

Nuh 71:18

ثُمَّ يُعيدُكُم فيها وَيُخرِجُكُم إِخراجًا

then He will return you into it and bring you out again.

Nuh 71:19

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَرضَ بِساطًا

The God made the earth a spread for you,

Nuh 71:20

لِتَسلُكوا مِنها سُبُلًا فِجاجًا

so that you may travel its broad paths.”

Nuh 71:21

قالَ نوحٌ رَبِّ إِنَّهُم عَصَونى وَاتَّبَعوا مَن لَم يَزِدهُ مالُهُ وَوَلَدُهُ إِلّا خَسارًا

Noah said, “My Lord, they disobeyed me and followed one whose wealth and children only increased his loss.

Nuh 71:22

وَمَكَروا مَكرًا كُبّارًا

They devised an immense scheme,

Nuh 71:23

وَقالوا لا تَذَرُنَّ ءالِهَتَكُم وَلا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلا سُواعًا وَلا يَغوثَ وَيَعوقَ وَنَسرًا

and said: Do not abandon your gods; do not abandon Wadd, Suwa, Yaghuth, Yauq, or Nasr.

Nuh 71:24

وَقَد أَضَلّوا كَثيرًا ۖ وَلا تَزِدِ الظّٰلِمينَ إِلّا ضَلٰلًا

They have led many astray. Increase the wrongdoers only in straying.”

Nuh 71:25

مِمّا خَطيـٰٔتِهِم أُغرِقوا فَأُدخِلوا نارًا فَلَم يَجِدوا لَهُم مِن دونِ اللَّهِ أَنصارًا

Because of their sins they were drowned and made to enter a fire, and they found no helpers for themselves besides The God.

Nuh 71:26

وَقالَ نوحٌ رَبِّ لا تَذَر عَلَى الأَرضِ مِنَ الكٰفِرينَ دَيّارًا

Noah said, “My Lord, do not leave a single dweller from among the disbelievers on earth.

Nuh 71:27

إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرهُم يُضِلّوا عِبادَكَ وَلا يَلِدوا إِلّا فاجِرًا كَفّارًا

If You leave them, they will lead Your servants astray and beget only the wicked and deeply ungrateful.

Nuh 71:28

رَبِّ اغفِر لى وَلِوٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيتِىَ مُؤمِنًا وَلِلمُؤمِنينَ وَالمُؤمِنٰتِ وَلا تَزِدِ الظّٰلِمينَ إِلّا تَبارًا

My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and whoever enters my house as a believer, and the believing men and women. Increase the wrongdoers only in ruin.”
