بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

At-Tariq 86:1

وَالسَّماءِ وَالطّارِقِ

By the sky and the night comer,

At-Tariq 86:2

وَما أَدرىٰكَ مَا الطّارِقُ

What will make you know what the night comer is?

At-Tariq 86:3

النَّجمُ الثّاقِبُ

The piercing star.

At-Tariq 86:4

إِن كُلُّ نَفسٍ لَمّا عَلَيها حافِظٌ

There is no soul without a keeper over it.

At-Tariq 86:5

فَليَنظُرِ الإِنسٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

Let the human look at what he was created from.

At-Tariq 86:6

خُلِقَ مِن ماءٍ دافِقٍ

He was created from a gushing fluid,

At-Tariq 86:7

يَخرُجُ مِن بَينِ الصُّلبِ وَالتَّرائِبِ

which comes out from between the backbone and the breastbones.

At-Tariq 86:8

إِنَّهُ عَلىٰ رَجعِهِ لَقادِرٌ

He is certainly able to bring him back,

At-Tariq 86:9

يَومَ تُبلَى السَّرائِرُ

on the day when secrets are tested.

At-Tariq 86:10

فَما لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلا ناصِرٍ

Then he will have neither strength nor a helper.

At-Tariq 86:11

وَالسَّماءِ ذاتِ الرَّجعِ

By the sky with its return,

At-Tariq 86:12

وَالأَرضِ ذاتِ الصَّدعِ

and by the earth with its splitting,

At-Tariq 86:13

إِنَّهُ لَقَولٌ فَصلٌ

this is a decisive word,

At-Tariq 86:14

وَما هُوَ بِالهَزلِ

and it is no jest.

At-Tariq 86:15

إِنَّهُم يَكيدونَ كَيدًا

They are devising a scheme,

At-Tariq 86:16

وَأَكيدُ كَيدًا

and I too am devising a scheme.

At-Tariq 86:17

فَمَهِّلِ الكٰفِرينَ أَمهِلهُم رُوَيدًا

So give the disbelievers respite; give them a little time.
