Surah Al-Ala

·The Most High·19 Verses

Al-Ala 87:1

Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High,

who created and fashioned,

and who determined the measure and guided,

and who brought forth the pasture,

then made it dark stubble.

We will have you recite, and you will not forget,

except what The God wills. He knows what is open and what is hidden.

We will ease you toward the easy way.

So remind, if the reminder benefits.

Whoever fears will take heed,

and the most wretched will avoid it,

who enters the greater fire,

then neither dies in it nor lives.

Successful indeed is the one who purifies himself,

and remembers his Lord’s name and prays.

Yet you prefer the life of this world,

while the Hereafter is better and more lasting.

This is in the earlier scriptures,

the scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
