بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Al-Ghashiyah 88:1

هَل أَتىٰكَ حَديثُ الغٰشِيَةِ

Has the account of the Overwhelming reached you?

Al-Ghashiyah 88:2

وُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ خٰشِعَةٌ

Some faces that day will be humbled,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:3

عامِلَةٌ ناصِبَةٌ

laboring and exhausted,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:4

تَصلىٰ نارًا حامِيَةً

entering a scorching fire,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:5

تُسقىٰ مِن عَينٍ ءانِيَةٍ

given drink from a boiling spring.

Al-Ghashiyah 88:6

لَيسَ لَهُم طَعامٌ إِلّا مِن ضَريعٍ

They will have no food except dry thorny herbage,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:7

لا يُسمِنُ وَلا يُغنى مِن جوعٍ

which neither nourishes nor relieves hunger.

Al-Ghashiyah 88:8

وُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ ناعِمَةٌ

Some faces that day will be joyful,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:9

لِسَعيِها راضِيَةٌ

pleased with their effort,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:10

فى جَنَّةٍ عالِيَةٍ

in a lofty garden,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:11

لا تَسمَعُ فيها لٰغِيَةً

where you hear no idle speech.

Al-Ghashiyah 88:12

فيها عَينٌ جارِيَةٌ

In it is a flowing spring,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:13

فيها سُرُرٌ مَرفوعَةٌ

in it are raised couches,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:14

وَأَكوابٌ مَوضوعَةٌ

and cups set out,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:15

وَنَمارِقُ مَصفوفَةٌ

and cushions arranged in rows,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:16

وَزَرابِىُّ مَبثوثَةٌ

and carpets spread out.

Al-Ghashiyah 88:17

أَفَلا يَنظُرونَ إِلَى الإِبِلِ كَيفَ خُلِقَت

Do they not look at the camels, how they were created,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:18

وَإِلَى السَّماءِ كَيفَ رُفِعَت

and at the sky, how it was raised,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:19

وَإِلَى الجِبالِ كَيفَ نُصِبَت

and at the mountains, how they were set up,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:20

وَإِلَى الأَرضِ كَيفَ سُطِحَت

and at the earth, how it was spread out?

Al-Ghashiyah 88:21

فَذَكِّر إِنَّما أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ

So remind; you are only a reminder.

Al-Ghashiyah 88:22

لَستَ عَلَيهِم بِمُصَيطِرٍ

You are not a controller over them,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:23

إِلّا مَن تَوَلّىٰ وَكَفَرَ

except the one who turns away and disbelieves,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:24

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ العَذابَ الأَكبَرَ

whom The God will punish with the greater punishment.

Al-Ghashiyah 88:25

إِنَّ إِلَينا إِيابَهُم

Their return is to Us,

Al-Ghashiyah 88:26

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَينا حِسابَهُم

then their accounting rests with Us.
