In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Al-Balad 90:1
No, I swear by this city,
Al-Balad 90:2
and you are dwelling in this city,
Al-Balad 90:3
and by a parent and what he has begotten.
Al-Balad 90:4
We have indeed created the human being in hardship.
Al-Balad 90:5
Does he think that no one will have power over him?
Al-Balad 90:6
He says, “I have squandered abundant wealth.”
Al-Balad 90:7
Does he think that no one has seen him?
Al-Balad 90:8
Have We not given him two eyes,
Al-Balad 90:9
and a tongue and two lips,
Al-Balad 90:10
and guided him to the two high paths?
Al-Balad 90:11
Yet he did not brave the steep ascent.
Al-Balad 90:12
And what has made you know what the steep ascent is?
Al-Balad 90:13
Freeing a neck,
Al-Balad 90:14
or feeding, on a day of hunger,
Al-Balad 90:15
an orphan of near kin,
Al-Balad 90:16
or a needy person in the dust;
Al-Balad 90:17
then being among those who believed and urged one another to patience and urged one another to mercy.
Al-Balad 90:18
Those are the companions of the right.
Al-Balad 90:19
And those who rejected Our signs are the companions of the left.
Al-Balad 90:20
Over them is a fire closed in.
