Surah Al-An’am

·The Cattle·165 Verses

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Al-An’am 6:1

ۖ

Praise belongs to The God, who created the heavens and the earth and made the darknesses and the light; yet those who disbelieve set equals alongside their Lord.

Al-An’am 6:2

ۖ ۖ

He is the One who created you from clay, then decreed a term; and a specified term is with Him. Yet you doubt.

Al-An’am 6:3

ۖ

He is The God in the heavens and on the earth. He knows your secret and your open conduct, and He knows what you earn.

Al-An’am 6:4

No sign among their Lord’s signs comes to them without their turning away from it.

Al-An’am 6:5

ۖ

They denied the truth when it came to them; soon the news of what they used to ridicule will reach them.

Al-An’am 6:6

Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them, whom We established on the earth as We have not established you? We sent abundant rain upon them and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and brought forth another generation after them.

Al-An’am 6:7

Even if We sent down to you a writing on parchment and they touched it with their hands, those who disbelieve would say, “This is nothing but clear magic.”

Al-An’am 6:8

ۖ

They said, “Why has an angel not been sent down to him?” Had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been settled, and then they would not be given respite.

Al-An’am 6:9

Had We made him an angel, We would have made him a man, and We would have confused for them what they confuse.

Al-An’am 6:10

Messengers before you were ridiculed, and what they used to ridicule engulfed those who mocked them.

Al-An’am 6:11

Say, “Travel through the earth, then see how the deniers ended.”

Al-An’am 6:12

ۖ ۚ ۚ ۚ

Say, “To whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth?” Say, “To The God.” He has prescribed mercy for Himself. He will surely gather you to the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt. Those who have lost themselves do not believe.

Al-An’am 6:13

ۚ

To Him belongs whatever rests in the night and the day. He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

Al-An’am 6:14

ۗ ۖ

Say, “Shall I take as a guardian anyone other than The God, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, who feeds and is not fed?” Say, “I have been commanded to be the first to submit; and never be among those who associate partners.”

Al-An’am 6:15

Say, “If I disobey my Lord, I fear the punishment of a tremendous day.”

Al-An’am 6:16

ۚ

Whoever is spared it that day has certainly received His mercy. That is the clear triumph.

Al-An’am 6:17

ۖ

If The God touches you with harm, none can remove it except Him. If He touches you with good, He has power over all things.

Al-An’am 6:18

ۚ

He is the Subduer above His servants, and He is the Wise, the Aware.

Al-An’am 6:19

ۖ ۖ ۚ ۚ ۚ ۚ

Say, “What is greatest in testimony?” Say, “The God is witness between me and you. This Qur’an has been revealed to me so that I may warn you by it, and whomever it reaches. Do you testify that there are other gods alongside The God?” Say, “I do not testify.” Say, “He is only One God, and I am free of what you associate as partners.”

Al-An’am 6:20

ۘ

Those to whom We have given the Book recognize him as they recognize their sons. Those who have lost themselves do not believe.

Al-An’am 6:21

ۗ

Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about The God or denies His signs? The unjust will not prosper.

Al-An’am 6:22

On the day We gather them all, We will say to those who associated partners, “Where are your partners whom you used to claim?”

Al-An’am 6:23

Then their plea was only to say, “By The God, our Lord, we were not associators of partners.”

Al-An’am 6:24

ۚ

See how they lied against themselves, and what they used to invent has vanished from them.

Al-An’am 6:25

ۖ ۚ ۚ

Among them are those who listen to you; but We have placed coverings over their hearts against understanding it, and heaviness in their ears. Even if they see every sign, they will not believe in it. When they come to you arguing with you, those who disbelieve say, “This is nothing but tales of the ancients.”

Al-An’am 6:26

ۖ

They forbid it and keep away from it. They destroy only themselves, yet they do not perceive.

Al-An’am 6:27

If you could see when they are made to stand before the Fire and say, “If only we were sent back, and did not deny our Lord’s signs, and were among the believers!”

Al-An’am 6:28

ۖ

Rather, what they used to conceal has become apparent to them. If they were sent back, they would return to what they were forbidden; they are indeed liars.

Al-An’am 6:29

They said, “There is nothing but our worldly life, and we will not be raised.”

Al-An’am 6:30

ۚ ۚ ۚ

If you could see when they are made to stand before their Lord. He will say, “Is this not the truth?” They will say, “Yes, by our Lord.” He will say, “Then taste the punishment for your disbelief.”

Al-An’am 6:31

ۖ ۚ

Those who denied the meeting with The God have lost. When the Hour comes upon them suddenly, they will say, “Alas for our neglect of it!” They will carry their burdens on their backs. How evil is what they bear!

Al-An’am 6:32

ۖ ۗ

The worldly life is nothing but play and diversion; the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who are mindful. Will you not reason?

Al-An’am 6:33

ۖ

We know that what they say grieves you. It is not you they deny; rather, the unjust reject the signs of The God.

Al-An’am 6:34

ۚ ۚ

Messengers before you were denied, and they endured being denied and harmed until Our help came to them. None can change the words of The God. Some of the news of the messengers has reached you.

Al-An’am 6:35

ۚ ۚ

If their turning away weighs heavily on you, then if you can seek a tunnel into the earth or a ladder into the sky and bring them a sign. Had The God willed, He would have gathered them upon guidance; so never be among the ignorant.

Al-An’am 6:36

ۘ

Only those who hear respond. As for the dead, The God will raise them; then to Him they will be returned.

Al-An’am 6:37

ۚ

They said, “Why has a sign from his Lord not been sent down to him?” Say, “The God is able to send down a sign, but most of them do not know.”

Al-An’am 6:38

ۚ ۚ

There is no creature on the earth, nor any bird flying with its two wings, but they are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book. Then to their Lord they will be gathered.

Al-An’am 6:39

ۗ

Those who deny Our signs are deaf and mute in darknesses. Whomever The God wills, He leads astray; and whomever He wills, He places on a straight path.

Al-An’am 6:40

Say, “Tell me: if the punishment of The God comes upon you, or the Hour comes upon you, will you call upon anyone other than The God, if you are truthful?”

Al-An’am 6:41

Rather, you will call upon Him alone; then, if He wills, He will remove what you call upon Him about, and you will forget what you associate as partners.

Al-An’am 6:42

We sent to communities before you, then seized them with hardship and adversity so that they might humble themselves in supplication.

Al-An’am 6:43

Why did they not humble themselves when Our severity came upon them? But their hearts hardened, and Satan made what they were doing seem attractive to them.

Al-An’am 6:44

When they forgot what they had been reminded of, We opened the gates of everything to them. When they rejoiced in what they had been given, We seized them suddenly, and they were left in despair.

Al-An’am 6:45

ۚ

The people who did wrong were cut off to the last. Praise belongs to The God, Lord of the worlds.

Al-An’am 6:46

ۗ

Say, “Tell me: if The God takes away your hearing and your sight and seals your hearts, what god other than The God could bring them back to you?” See how We present the signs in varied ways; yet they turn away.

Al-An’am 6:47

Say, “Tell me: if the punishment of The God comes upon you suddenly or openly, will any be destroyed except the unjust people?”

Al-An’am 6:48

ۖ

We send the messengers only as bearers of good news and warners. Whoever believes and makes amends will have no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.

Al-An’am 6:49

Those who deny Our signs will be touched by punishment for their disobedience.

Al-An’am 6:50

ۖ ۚ ۚ

Say, “I do not tell you that I possess the treasuries of The God, nor do I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I follow only what is revealed to me.” Say, “Are the blind and the seeing equal? Will you not reflect?”

Al-An’am 6:51

ۙ

Warn by it those who fear being gathered to their Lord, having neither guardian nor intercessor apart from Him, so that they may be mindful.

Al-An’am 6:52

ۖ

Do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His face. None of their account rests upon you, and none of your account rests upon them, that you should drive them away and become one of the unjust.

Al-An’am 6:53

ۗ

Thus We tested some of them through others, so that they would say, “Are these the ones whom The God has favored among us?” Does The God not know best those who are grateful?

Al-An’am 6:54

ۖ ۖ

When those who believe in Our signs come to you, say, “Peace be upon you. Your Lord has prescribed mercy for Himself: whoever among you does evil in ignorance, then repents afterward and makes amends—He is Forgiving, Merciful.”

Al-An’am 6:55

Thus We explain the signs in detail, and so that the way of the guilty may become clear.

Al-An’am 6:56

ۚ ۙ

Say, “I have been forbidden to worship those you call upon apart from The God.” Say, “I do not follow your desires; then I would have gone astray and would not be among the guided.”

Al-An’am 6:57

ۚ ۚ ۖ ۖ

Say, “I stand upon clear evidence from my Lord, and you have denied it. What you seek to hasten is not with me. Judgment belongs only to The God. He relates the truth, and He is the best of deciders.”

Al-An’am 6:58

ۗ

Say, “If what you seek to hasten were with me, the matter between me and you would have been settled. The God knows the unjust best.”

Al-An’am 6:59

ۚ ۚ

With Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. He knows what is on land and in the sea. No leaf falls without His knowing it; nor is there a grain in the darknesses of the earth, nor anything moist or dry, but it is in a clear Book.

Al-An’am 6:60

ۖ

He is the One who takes you at night and knows what you have earned by day; then He raises you in it so that a specified term may be fulfilled. Then to Him is your return; then He will inform you of what you used to do.

Al-An’am 6:61

ۖ

He is the Subduer above His servants, and He sends guardians over you. When death comes to one of you, Our messengers take him, and they do not neglect their duty.

Al-An’am 6:62

ۚ

Then they are returned to The God, their true Master. Judgment belongs to Him, and He is the swiftest of reckoners.

Al-An’am 6:63

Say, “Who saves you from the darknesses of land and sea, when you call upon Him humbly and secretly: ‘If He saves us from this, we will surely be among the grateful’?”

Al-An’am 6:64

Say, “The God saves you from it and from every distress; yet you associate partners.”

Al-An’am 6:65

ۗ

Say, “He is able to send punishment upon you from above you or from beneath your feet, or to embroil you in factions and make some of you taste the violence of others.” See how We present the signs in varied ways, so that they may understand.

Al-An’am 6:66

ۚ

Your people have denied it, though it is the truth. Say, “I am not a trustee over you.”

Al-An’am 6:67

ۚ

Every announcement has a time of fulfillment, and you will come to know.

Al-An’am 6:68

ۚ

When you see those who engage in vain talk about Our signs, turn away from them until they engage in another discourse. If Satan makes you forget, then after remembering, do not sit with the unjust people.

Al-An’am 6:69

None of their account rests upon those who are mindful, but a reminder, so that they may be mindful.

Al-An’am 6:70

ۚ ۗ ۖ

Leave those who have taken their religion as play and diversion and whom the worldly life has deceived. Remind by it, lest a soul be held captive for what it has earned, having neither guardian nor intercessor apart from The God. Whatever ransom it offers will not be accepted from it. Those are the ones held captive for what they earned; for them are a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for their disbelief.

Al-An’am 6:71

ۗ ۖ

Say, “Shall we call upon, apart from The God, what neither benefits nor harms us, and be turned back on our heels after The God has guided us, like someone whom the devils have lured away on earth, bewildered, with companions calling him to guidance: ‘Come to us’?” Say, “The guidance of The God is the guidance, and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.”

Al-An’am 6:72

ۚ

“And establish prayer and be mindful of Him. He is the One to whom you will be gathered.”

Al-An’am 6:73

ۖ ۚ ۚ ۚ ۚ

He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in truth. On the day He says, “Be,” it is. His word is the truth. His is the dominion on the day the trumpet is blown; Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, He is the Wise, the Aware.

Al-An’am 6:74

ۖ

When Abraham said to his father Azar, “Do you take idols as gods? I see you and your people in clear error.”

Al-An’am 6:75

Thus We show Abraham the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and so that he may be among those who are certain.

Al-An’am 6:76

ۖ ۖ

When night covered him, he saw a star. He said, “This is my Lord.” But when it set, he said, “I do not love those that set.”

Al-An’am 6:77

ۖ

When he saw the moon rising, he said, “This is my Lord.” But when it set, he said, “Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people who go astray.”

Al-An’am 6:78

ۖ

When he saw the sun rising, he said, “This is my Lord; this is greater.” But when it set, he said, “My people, I am free of what you associate as partners.”

Al-An’am 6:79

ۖ

I have turned my face toward the One who originated the heavens and the earth, inclining to truth, and I am not among those who associate partners.

Al-An’am 6:80

ۚ ۚ ۗ ۗ

His people argued with him. He said, “Do you argue with me about The God, when He has guided me? I do not fear what you associate with Him, unless my Lord wills something. My Lord encompasses everything in knowledge. Will you not take heed?”

Al-An’am 6:81

ۚ ۖ

How should I fear what you associate, when you do not fear having associated with The God what He has sent down no authority for? Which of the two groups has more right to security, if you know?

Al-An’am 6:82

Those who believe and do not mix their faith with injustice have security, and they are guided.

Al-An’am 6:83

ۚ ۗ

That is Our argument, which We gave Abraham against his people. We raise in degrees whomever We will. Your Lord is Wise, Knowing.

Al-An’am 6:84

ۚ ۚ ۖ ۚ

We granted him Isaac and Jacob; each We guided. Noah We guided before, and among his descendants David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. Thus We reward those who do good.

Al-An’am 6:85

ۖ

And Zechariah, John, Jesus, and Elijah; each was among the righteous.

Al-An’am 6:86

ۚ

And Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot; each We favored above the worlds.

Al-An’am 6:87

ۖ

And from among their fathers, their descendants, and their brothers. We chose them and guided them to a straight path.

Al-An’am 6:88

ۚ

That is the guidance of The God, by which He guides whomever He wills among His servants. Had they associated partners, what they used to do would have come to nothing.

Al-An’am 6:89

ۚ

Those are the ones to whom We gave the Book, judgment, and prophethood. If these disbelieve in it, We have entrusted it to a people who do not disbelieve in it.

Al-An’am 6:90

ۖ ۗ ۖ

Those are the ones whom The God has guided; so follow their guidance. Say, “I ask you no reward for it. It is only a reminder for the worlds.”

Al-An’am 6:91

ۗ ۖ ۖ ۖ ۖ

They did not esteem The God as He deserves when they said, “The God has sent down nothing to any human.” Say, “Who sent down the Book that Moses brought as light and guidance for people? You make it into sheets, displaying them and concealing much. You were taught what neither you nor your fathers knew.” Say, “The God.” Then leave them playing in their idle discourse.

Al-An’am 6:92

ۚ ۖ

This is a blessed Book We have sent down, confirming what came before it, and so that you may warn the Mother of Towns and those around it. Those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it, and they guard their prayer.

Al-An’am 6:93

ۗ ۖ

Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about The God, or says, “It has been revealed to me,” when nothing has been revealed to him, or one who says, “I will send down the like of what The God has sent down”? If you could see the unjust in the agonies of death, with the angels stretching out their hands: “Release your souls! Today you will be repaid with humiliating punishment for saying what was untrue about The God and for being arrogant toward His signs.”

Al-An’am 6:94

ۖ ۚ

You have come to Us alone, just as We created you the first time, leaving behind what We bestowed upon you. We do not see with you your intercessors whom you claimed were partners concerning you. The ties between you have been severed, and what you used to claim has vanished from you.

Al-An’am 6:95

ۖ ۚ ۖ

The God is the splitter of grain and date stones. He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living. That is The God; how then are you turned away?

Al-An’am 6:96

ۚ

The splitter of dawn; He made the night for rest, and the sun and the moon for reckoning. That is the determination of the Mighty, the Knowing.

Al-An’am 6:97

ۗ

He is the One who made the stars for you, so that you may be guided by them in the darknesses of land and sea. We have explained the signs in detail for people who know.

Al-An’am 6:98

ۗ

He is the One who brought you forth from a single soul; then a place of settlement and a place of deposit. We have explained the signs in detail for people who understand.

Al-An’am 6:99

ۗ ۚ

He is the One who sent down water from the sky. With it We brought forth the growth of everything; from it We brought forth greenery from which We produce clustered grain. From the date palm, from its spathes, come low-hanging clusters; and gardens of grapes, olives, and pomegranates, alike and unlike. Look at its fruit when it bears fruit and at its ripening. In these are signs for people who believe.

Al-An’am 6:100

ۖ ۚ

They made the jinn partners of The God, though He created them, and falsely attributed sons and daughters to Him without knowledge. Glory be to Him; exalted is He above what they describe.

Al-An’am 6:101

ۖ ۖ ۖ

The Originator of the heavens and the earth: how could He have a child when He has no consort and has created everything? He knows all things.

Al-An’am 6:102

ۖ ۖ ۚ

That is The God, your Lord. There is no god except Him, the Creator of everything; so worship Him. He is Trustee over all things.

Al-An’am 6:103

ۖ

Vision does not encompass Him, but He encompasses vision. He is the Subtle, the Aware.

Al-An’am 6:104

ۖ ۖ ۚ

Insights have come to you from your Lord. Whoever sees does so for himself, and whoever is blind is so against himself. I am not a keeper over you.

Al-An’am 6:105

Thus We present the signs in varied ways, and so that they may say, “You have studied,” and so that We may make it clear to people who know.

Al-An’am 6:106

ۖ ۖ

Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord. There is no god except Him. Turn away from those who associate partners.

Al-An’am 6:107

ۗ ۖ

Had The God willed, they would not have associated partners. We have not made you a keeper over them, nor are you a trustee over them.

Al-An’am 6:108

ۗ

Do not insult those they call upon apart from The God, lest they insult The God in hostility without knowledge. Thus We have made every community’s deeds attractive to them. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do.

Al-An’am 6:109

ۚ ۖ

They swore by The God their strongest oaths that if a sign came to them, they would surely believe in it. Say, “The signs are only with The God.” What will make you realize that when it comes, they will not believe?

Al-An’am 6:110

We turn their hearts and their eyes, as they did not believe in it the first time, and We leave them wandering blindly in their transgression.

Al-An’am 6:111

Even if We sent the angels down to them, and the dead spoke to them, and We gathered everything before them face to face, they would not believe unless The God willed; but most of them are ignorant.

Al-An’am 6:112

ۚ ۖ

Thus We made for every prophet an enemy: devils among humans and jinn, inspiring one another with embellished speech to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it; so leave them and what they invent.

Al-An’am 6:113

And so that the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter may incline toward it, be pleased with it, and commit what they commit.

Al-An’am 6:114

ۚ ۖ

Shall I seek a judge other than The God, when He is the One who sent down to you the Book explained in detail? Those to whom We have given the Book know that it has been sent down from your Lord in truth; so never be among those who doubt.

Al-An’am 6:115

ۚ ۚ

The word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice. None can change His words. He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

Al-An’am 6:116

ۚ

If you obey most of those on earth, they will lead you away from the path of The God. They follow only conjecture and do nothing but guess.

Al-An’am 6:117

ۖ

Your Lord knows best who strays from His path, and He knows best those who are guided.

Al-An’am 6:118

Eat, then, of that over which the name of The God has been mentioned, if you believe in His signs.

Al-An’am 6:119

ۗ ۗ

Why should you not eat of that over which the name of The God has been mentioned, when He has explained in detail what He has forbidden you, except what you are compelled to? Many lead others astray by their desires without knowledge. Your Lord knows the transgressors best.

Al-An’am 6:120

ۚ

Leave both the outward and the inward of sin. Those who earn sin will be repaid for what they used to commit.

Al-An’am 6:121

ۗ ۖ

Do not eat of that over which the name of The God has not been mentioned; it is disobedience. The devils inspire their allies to argue with you. If you obey them, you are indeed associators of partners.

Al-An’am 6:122

ۚ

Is one who was dead, whom We gave life and a light by which to walk among people, like one whose likeness is in darknesses from which he cannot emerge? Thus what the disbelievers used to do has been made attractive to them.

Al-An’am 6:123

ۖ

Thus We placed in every town its leading criminals to scheme within it. They scheme only against themselves, yet they do not perceive.

Al-An’am 6:124

ۘ ۗ

When a sign comes to them, they say, “We will not believe until we are given the like of what the messengers of The God were given.” The God knows best where to place His message. Those who committed crimes will be afflicted with abasement before The God and severe punishment for their scheming.

Al-An’am 6:125

ۖ ۚ

Whomever The God wills to guide, He opens his breast to submission; and whomever He wills to lead astray, He makes his breast tight and constricted, as though he were struggling to ascend into the sky. Thus The God places defilement upon those who do not believe.

Al-An’am 6:126

ۗ

This is the path of your Lord, straight. We have explained the signs in detail for people who take heed.

Al-An’am 6:127

ۖ

For them is the abode of peace with their Lord, and He is their guardian because of what they used to do.

Al-An’am 6:128

ۖ ۚ ۗ

On the day He gathers them all: “Company of jinn, you have taken many among humans.” Their allies among humans will say, “Our Lord, some of us benefited from others, and we have reached the term You appointed for us.” He will say, “The Fire is your dwelling, remaining in it, except as The God wills.” Your Lord is Wise, Knowing.

Al-An’am 6:129

Thus We make some of the unjust allies of others because of what they used to earn.

Al-An’am 6:130

ۚ ۖ

“Company of jinn and humans, did messengers from among you not come to you, relating My signs and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours?” They will say, “We testify against ourselves.” The worldly life deceived them, and they testified against themselves that they had been disbelievers.

Al-An’am 6:131

That is because your Lord would not destroy towns unjustly while their people were unaware.

Al-An’am 6:132

ۚ

For all are degrees according to what they have done. Your Lord is not unaware of what they do.

Al-An’am 6:133

ۚ

Your Lord is the Self-Sufficient, Possessor of mercy. If He wills, He can remove you and bring after you whatever He wills, just as He brought you forth from the descendants of another people.

Al-An’am 6:134

ۖ

What you are promised is surely coming, and you cannot thwart it.

Al-An’am 6:135

ۖ ۗ

Say, “My people, act according to your position; I too am acting. You will come to know whose will be the final outcome of the abode. The unjust will not prosper.”

Al-An’am 6:136

ۖ ۖ ۗ

They assigned to The God a share of the crops and livestock He brought forth, saying according to their claim, “This is for The God, and this is for our partners.” What is for their partners does not reach The God, while what is for The God reaches their partners. Evil is their judgment.

Al-An’am 6:137

ۖ ۖ

Thus their partners made the killing of their children attractive to many of those who associate partners, to bring them to ruin and confuse their religion for them. Had The God willed, they would not have done it; so leave them and what they invent.

Al-An’am 6:138

ۚ

They said, according to their claim, “These livestock and crops are restricted; none may eat of them except whom we will.” And livestock whose backs are forbidden, and livestock over which they do not mention the name of The God, inventing a lie against Him. He will repay them for what they used to invent.

Al-An’am 6:139

ۖ ۚ ۚ

They said, “What is in the bellies of these livestock is exclusively for our males and forbidden to our wives; but if it is dead, they share in it.” He will repay them for their description. He is Wise, Knowing.

Al-An’am 6:140

ۚ

Those who killed their children foolishly, without knowledge, and forbade what The God had provided them, inventing a lie about The God, have lost. They have gone astray and were not guided.

Al-An’am 6:141

ۚ ۖ ۚ

He is the One who brought forth gardens, trellised and untrellised, date palms and crops of varied produce, olives and pomegranates, alike and unlike. Eat of their fruit when they bear fruit, and give its due on the day of its harvest. Do not be excessive; He does not love the excessive.

Al-An’am 6:142

ۚ ۚ

And of livestock, those that carry burdens and those low to the ground. Eat of what The God has provided you, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan; he is a clear enemy to you.

Al-An’am 6:143

ۖ ۗ ۖ

Eight in pairs: two of sheep and two of goats. Say, “Has He forbidden the two males, or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain? Inform me with knowledge, if you are truthful.”

Al-An’am 6:144

ۗ ۖ ۚ ۗ

And two of camels and two of cattle. Say, “Has He forbidden the two males, or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain? Or were you witnesses when The God instructed you in this?” Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about The God to mislead people without knowledge? The God does not guide the unjust people.

Al-An’am 6:145

ۚ

Say, “In what has been revealed to me, I find nothing forbidden to one who eats it except carrion, spilled blood, or the flesh of swine—for it is defilement—or a disobedient offering over which a name other than The God has been invoked. Whoever is compelled, neither desiring nor transgressing—your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful.”

Al-An’am 6:146

ۖ ۚ ۖ

To those who became Jews We forbade every animal with a claw. Of cattle and sheep We forbade them the fat, except what their backs or entrails carry, or what is mixed with bone. Thus We repaid them for their transgression, and We are truthful.

Al-An’am 6:147

If they deny you, say, “Your Lord possesses vast mercy, but His severity will not be turned away from the guilty people.”

Al-An’am 6:148

ۚ ۗ ۖ

Those who associated partners will say, “Had The God willed, neither we nor our fathers would have associated partners, nor would we have forbidden anything.” Thus those before them denied until they tasted Our severity. Say, “Do you have any knowledge to bring forth for us? You follow only conjecture, and you do nothing but guess.”

Al-An’am 6:149

ۖ

Say, “The conclusive argument belongs to The God. Had He willed, He would have guided you all.”

Al-An’am 6:150

ۖ ۚ

Say, “Bring your witnesses who testify that The God has forbidden this.” If they testify, do not testify with them. Do not follow the desires of those who deny Our signs, who do not believe in the Hereafter, and who set equals alongside their Lord.

Al-An’am 6:151

ۖ ۖ ۖ ۖ ۖ ۖ ۚ

Say, “Come, I will recite what your Lord has forbidden you: associate nothing with Him; be good to parents; do not kill your children because of poverty—We provide for you and for them; do not approach indecencies, whether outward or hidden; and do not kill the soul that The God has made inviolable, except by right. This He has enjoined upon you, so that you may reason.”

Al-An’am 6:152

ۖ ۖ ۖ ۖ ۚ

Do not approach the orphan’s property except in the best way, until he reaches maturity. Give full measure and weight with justice. We burden no soul beyond its capacity. When you speak, be just, even if it concerns a relative. Fulfill the covenant of The God. This He has enjoined upon you, so that you may take heed.

Al-An’am 6:153

ۖ ۚ

This is My path, straight, so follow it. Do not follow other ways, lest they separate you from His way. This He has enjoined upon you, so that you may be mindful.

Al-An’am 6:154

Then We gave Moses the Book, completing for the one who did good, explaining everything in detail, and as guidance and mercy, so that they might believe in the meeting with their Lord.

Al-An’am 6:155

This is a blessed Book We have sent down; so follow it and be mindful, so that you may receive mercy.

Al-An’am 6:156

Lest you say, “The Book was sent down only to two groups before us, and we were unaware of their study.”

Al-An’am 6:157

ۚ ۚ ۗ

Or lest you say, “If the Book had been sent down to us, we would have been better guided than they.” Clear evidence, guidance, and mercy have now come to you from your Lord. Who is more unjust than one who denies the signs of The God and turns away from them? We will repay those who turn away from Our signs with an evil punishment for their turning away.

Al-An’am 6:158

ۗ ۗ

Are they waiting for anything but the angels to come to them, or your Lord to come, or some of your Lord’s signs to come? On the day some of your Lord’s signs come, a soul’s faith will not benefit it if it had not believed before or earned good through its faith. Say, “Wait; we too are waiting.”

Al-An’am 6:159

ۚ

Those who divided their religion and became factions—you have nothing to do with them. Their affair rests only with The God; then He will inform them of what they used to do.

Al-An’am 6:160

ۖ

Whoever brings a good deed will have ten times its like. Whoever brings an evil deed will be repaid only its like, and they will not be wronged.

Al-An’am 6:161

ۚ

Say, “My Lord has guided me to a straight path, an upright religion, the way of Abraham, inclining to truth. He was not among those who associated partners.”

Al-An’am 6:162

Say, “My prayer, my rites, my living, and my dying are for The God, Lord of the worlds.”

Al-An’am 6:163

ۖ

He has no partner. This I have been commanded, and I am the first of those who submit.

Al-An’am 6:164

ۚ ۚ ۚ

Say, “Shall I seek a lord other than The God, when He is Lord of everything?” Every soul earns only to its own account, and no bearer of burdens bears another’s burden. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you of what you used to differ about.

Al-An’am 6:165

ۗ

He is the One who made you successors on the earth and raised some of you above others in degrees, to test you in what He has given you. Your Lord is swift in punishment, and He is Forgiving, Merciful.
