·Abraham·52 Verses

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Ibrahim 14:1

ۚ

Alif, Lam, Ra. A Book We sent down to you so that you may bring people out of darkness into light, by their Lord’s permission, to the path of the Mighty, the Praiseworthy.

Ibrahim 14:2

ۗ

The God, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment.

Ibrahim 14:3

ۚ

Those who prefer the worldly life to the Hereafter, turn others away from the path of The God, and seek to make it crooked—they are in far-reaching error.

Ibrahim 14:4

ۖ ۚ

We sent no messenger except in the language of his people, to make things clear to them. Then The God leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Mighty, the Wise.

Ibrahim 14:5

ۚ

We certainly sent Moses with Our signs: “Bring your people out of darkness into light, and remind them of the days of The God.” In that are signs for everyone who is deeply patient and grateful.

Ibrahim 14:6

ۚ

And when Moses said to his people, “Remember the favor of The God upon you when He saved you from Pharaoh’s people, who subjected you to terrible punishment, slaughtering your sons and keeping your women alive. In that was a great trial from your Lord.”

Ibrahim 14:7

ۖ

And when your Lord announced, “If you are grateful, I will surely give you more; but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is surely severe.”

Ibrahim 14:8

Moses said, “If you disbelieve, you and everyone on earth together, The God is surely free of need, Praiseworthy.”

Ibrahim 14:9

ۛ ۛ ۚ

Has the news not reached you of those before you—the people of Noah, Ad, Thamud, and those after them? None knows them except The God. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they put their hands back into their mouths and said, “We disbelieve in what you have been sent with, and we are in disturbing doubt about what you call us to.”

Ibrahim 14:10

ۖ ۚ

Their messengers said, “Is there doubt about The God, the Originator of the heavens and the earth? He calls you to forgive you of your sins and to grant you respite until a specified term.” They said, “You are only humans like us. You want to turn us away from what our fathers worshipped. So bring us a clear authority.”

Ibrahim 14:11

ۖ ۚ

Their messengers said to them, “We are only humans like you, but The God bestows favor upon whom He wills of His servants. We cannot bring you an authority except by the permission of The God. And in The God let the believers put their trust.”

Ibrahim 14:12

ۚ ۚ

“Why should we not put our trust in The God when He has guided us to our ways? We will surely endure the harm you have done us. And in The God let those who trust put their trust.”

Ibrahim 14:13

ۖ

Those who disbelieved said to their messengers, “We will surely expel you from our land, or you will surely return to our way of belief.” Then their Lord revealed to them, “We will surely destroy the wrongdoers.”

Ibrahim 14:14

ۚ

“And We will surely settle you in the land after them. That is for whoever fears standing before Me and fears My warning.”

Ibrahim 14:15

They sought victory, and every obstinate tyrant failed.

Ibrahim 14:16

Hell lies beyond him, and he will be given putrid water to drink.

Ibrahim 14:17

ۖ

He gulps it and can hardly swallow it. Death comes to him from every direction, yet he does not die. And beyond him is a harsh punishment.

Ibrahim 14:18

ۖ ۖ ۚ

The likeness of those who disbelieve in their Lord: their deeds are like ashes over which the wind blows fiercely on a stormy day. They have no power over anything they have earned. That is the far-reaching error.

Ibrahim 14:19

ۚ

Have you not seen that The God created the heavens and the earth in truth? If He wills, He can remove you and bring a new creation.

Ibrahim 14:20

And that is not difficult for The God.

Ibrahim 14:21

ۚ ۖ

They all appeared before The God, and the weak said to those who were arrogant, “We were your followers. Can you spare us anything of the punishment of The God?” They said, “Had The God guided us, we would have guided you. It is the same for us whether we panic or endure; we have no escape.”

Ibrahim 14:22

ۖ ۖ ۖ ۖ ۗ

When the matter was decided, Satan said, “The God promised you the promise of truth. I promised you and broke my promise to you. I had no authority over you except that I called you and you responded to me. So do not blame me; blame yourselves. I cannot come to your aid, nor can you come to mine. I reject your having associated me before. Surely the wrongdoers will have a painful punishment.”

Ibrahim 14:23

ۖ

Those who believed and did righteous deeds were admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, remaining there by their Lord’s permission. Their greeting there is “Peace.”

Ibrahim 14:24

Have you not seen how The God sets forth a likeness: a good word is like a good tree, its root firm and its branch in the sky.

Ibrahim 14:25

ۗ

It gives its fruit at every time by its Lord’s permission. The God sets forth likenesses for people so that they may take heed.

Ibrahim 14:26

The likeness of a bad word is like a bad tree uprooted from the surface of the earth, with no stability.

Ibrahim 14:27

ۖ ۚ

The God makes those who believe firm with the firm word in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. The God leads the wrongdoers astray, and The God does whatever He wills.

Ibrahim 14:28

Have you not considered those who exchanged the favor of The God for disbelief and brought their people into the abode of ruin?

Ibrahim 14:29

ۖ

Hell, which they enter to burn—and a wretched resting place it is.

Ibrahim 14:30

ۗ

They set up rivals to The God to lead others astray from His path. Say, “Enjoy yourselves, for your destination is the Fire.”

Ibrahim 14:31

Tell My servants who have believed to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and openly, before a day comes in which there is neither trading nor friendship.

Ibrahim 14:32

ۖ ۖ

The God is the One who created the heavens and the earth and sent down water from the sky, bringing forth fruits with it as provision for you. He subjected the ships to you to sail upon the sea by His command, and He subjected the rivers to you.

Ibrahim 14:33

ۖ

He subjected the sun and the moon to you, both working continuously, and He subjected the night and the day to you.

Ibrahim 14:34

ۚ ۗ

He gave you of all that you asked Him. If you count the favor of The God, you cannot enumerate it. Surely the human being is deeply unjust and ungrateful.

Ibrahim 14:35

And when Abraham said, “My Lord, make this city secure, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.”

Ibrahim 14:36

ۖ ۖ

“My Lord, they have led many people astray. Whoever follows me is of me, and whoever disobeys me—You are Forgiving, Merciful.”

Ibrahim 14:37

“Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, so that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them, and provide them with fruits so that they may be grateful.”

Ibrahim 14:38

ۗ

“Our Lord, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing on the earth or in the sky is hidden from The God.”

Ibrahim 14:39

ۚ

“Praise belongs to The God, who granted me Ishmael and Isaac in old age. Surely my Lord hears the supplication.”

Ibrahim 14:40

ۚ

“My Lord, make me one who establishes prayer, and from my descendants as well. Our Lord, accept my supplication.”

Ibrahim 14:41

“Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the day the reckoning is established.”

Ibrahim 14:42

ۚ

Never think The God is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them until a day when eyes will stare fixedly.

Ibrahim 14:43

ۖ

Rushing forward with their heads raised, their gaze does not return to them, and their hearts are empty.

Ibrahim 14:44

ۗ

Warn people of the day when the punishment comes to them, and those who did wrong say, “Our Lord, delay us until a near term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers.” Had you not sworn before that there would be no passing away for you?

Ibrahim 14:45

You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We dealt with them. And We set forth likenesses for you.

Ibrahim 14:46

They devised their scheme, and their scheme is with The God, even if their scheme were such that mountains would be removed by it.

Ibrahim 14:47

ۗ

Never think that The God will break His promise to His messengers. Surely The God is Mighty, Possessor of retribution.

Ibrahim 14:48

ۖ

On the day the earth is changed to another earth, and the heavens as well, they will appear before The God, the One, the Overpowering.

Ibrahim 14:49

On that day you will see the guilty bound together in fetters.

Ibrahim 14:50

Their garments are of pitch, and the Fire covers their faces.

Ibrahim 14:51

ۚ

So that The God may recompense every soul for what it has earned. Surely The God is swift in reckoning.

Ibrahim 14:52

This is a message for people, so that they may be warned by it, know that He is only One God, and so that those of understanding may take heed.
