بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Ad-Dukhan 44:1

حم

Ha, Mim.

Ad-Dukhan 44:2

وَالكِتٰبِ المُبينِ

By the clarifying Book.

Ad-Dukhan 44:3

إِنّا أَنزَلنٰهُ فى لَيلَةٍ مُبٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنّا كُنّا مُنذِرينَ

We sent it down on a blessed night; We have been warning.

Ad-Dukhan 44:4

فيها يُفرَقُ كُلُّ أَمرٍ حَكيمٍ

In it every wise matter is distinguished,

Ad-Dukhan 44:5

أَمرًا مِن عِندِنا ۚ إِنّا كُنّا مُرسِلينَ

As a command from Us; We have been sending,

Ad-Dukhan 44:6

رَحمَةً مِن رَبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّميعُ العَليمُ

As a mercy from your Lord; He is the Hearing, the Knowing,

Ad-Dukhan 44:7

رَبِّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَينَهُما ۖ إِن كُنتُم موقِنينَ

Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you are certain.

Ad-Dukhan 44:8

لا إِلٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ يُحيۦ وَيُميتُ ۖ رَبُّكُم وَرَبُّ ءابائِكُمُ الأَوَّلينَ

There is no god but Him. He gives life and causes death; your Lord and the Lord of your earlier fathers.

Ad-Dukhan 44:9

بَل هُم فى شَكٍّ يَلعَبونَ

Rather, they are in doubt, playing.

Ad-Dukhan 44:10

فَارتَقِب يَومَ تَأتِى السَّماءُ بِدُخانٍ مُبينٍ

So watch for the day when the sky brings a visible smoke,

Ad-Dukhan 44:11

يَغشَى النّاسَ ۖ هٰذا عَذابٌ أَليمٌ

Enveloping the people; this is a painful punishment.

Ad-Dukhan 44:12

رَبَّنَا اكشِف عَنَّا العَذابَ إِنّا مُؤمِنونَ

Our Lord, remove the punishment from us; we are believers.

Ad-Dukhan 44:13

أَنّىٰ لَهُمُ الذِّكرىٰ وَقَد جاءَهُم رَسولٌ مُبينٌ

How can they take heed, when a clarifying messenger had already come to them?

Ad-Dukhan 44:14

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوا عَنهُ وَقالوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَجنونٌ

Then they turned away from him and said: Taught by others, mad.

Ad-Dukhan 44:15

إِنّا كاشِفُوا العَذابِ قَليلًا ۚ إِنَّكُم عائِدونَ

We will remove the punishment for a little while; you will return.

Ad-Dukhan 44:16

يَومَ نَبطِشُ البَطشَةَ الكُبرىٰ إِنّا مُنتَقِمونَ

The day We seize with the greatest seizure, We will take retribution.

Ad-Dukhan 44:17

وَلَقَد فَتَنّا قَبلَهُم قَومَ فِرعَونَ وَجاءَهُم رَسولٌ كَريمٌ

We certainly tested Pharaoh’s people before them, and an honored messenger came to them,

Ad-Dukhan 44:18

أَن أَدّوا إِلَىَّ عِبادَ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنّى لَكُم رَسولٌ أَمينٌ

Saying: Hand over to me the servants of The God; I am a trustworthy messenger to you.

Ad-Dukhan 44:19

وَأَن لا تَعلوا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ إِنّى ءاتيكُم بِسُلطٰنٍ مُبينٍ

And do not exalt yourselves against The God; I bring you clear authority.

Ad-Dukhan 44:20

وَإِنّى عُذتُ بِرَبّى وَرَبِّكُم أَن تَرجُمونِ

I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from your stoning me.

Ad-Dukhan 44:21

وَإِن لَم تُؤمِنوا لى فَاعتَزِلونِ

If you do not believe me, then leave me alone.

Ad-Dukhan 44:22

فَدَعا رَبَّهُ أَنَّ هٰؤُلاءِ قَومٌ مُجرِمونَ

Then he called upon his Lord: These are a guilty people.

Ad-Dukhan 44:23

فَأَسرِ بِعِبادى لَيلًا إِنَّكُم مُتَّبَعونَ

Then travel by night with My servants; you will be pursued.

Ad-Dukhan 44:24

وَاترُكِ البَحرَ رَهوًا ۖ إِنَّهُم جُندٌ مُغرَقونَ

Leave the sea still; they are an army to be drowned.

Ad-Dukhan 44:25

كَم تَرَكوا مِن جَنّٰتٍ وَعُيونٍ

How many gardens and springs they left behind,

Ad-Dukhan 44:26

وَزُروعٍ وَمَقامٍ كَريمٍ

And fields and an honorable dwelling,

Ad-Dukhan 44:27

وَنَعمَةٍ كانوا فيها فٰكِهينَ

And comfort in which they delighted.

Ad-Dukhan 44:28

كَذٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَورَثنٰها قَومًا ءاخَرينَ

Thus it was; and We made another people inherit it.

Ad-Dukhan 44:29

فَما بَكَت عَلَيهِمُ السَّماءُ وَالأَرضُ وَما كانوا مُنظَرينَ

Neither heaven nor earth wept for them, nor were they reprieved.

Ad-Dukhan 44:30

وَلَقَد نَجَّينا بَنى إِسرٰءيلَ مِنَ العَذابِ المُهينِ

We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating punishment,

Ad-Dukhan 44:31

مِن فِرعَونَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كانَ عالِيًا مِنَ المُسرِفينَ

From Pharaoh; he was arrogant, one of the excessive.

Ad-Dukhan 44:32

وَلَقَدِ اختَرنٰهُم عَلىٰ عِلمٍ عَلَى العٰلَمينَ

We certainly chose them knowingly above the worlds.

Ad-Dukhan 44:33

وَءاتَينٰهُم مِنَ الـٔايٰتِ ما فيهِ بَلٰؤٌا۟ مُبينٌ

We gave them signs in which there was a clear trial.

Ad-Dukhan 44:34

إِنَّ هٰؤُلاءِ لَيَقولونَ

These people surely say:

Ad-Dukhan 44:35

إِن هِىَ إِلّا مَوتَتُنَا الأولىٰ وَما نَحنُ بِمُنشَرينَ

There is only our first death, and we will not be raised.

Ad-Dukhan 44:36

فَأتوا بِـٔابائِنا إِن كُنتُم صٰدِقينَ

Then bring our fathers, if you are truthful.

Ad-Dukhan 44:37

أَهُم خَيرٌ أَم قَومُ تُبَّعٍ وَالَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم ۚ أَهلَكنٰهُم ۖ إِنَّهُم كانوا مُجرِمينَ

Are they better, or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them; they were guilty.

Ad-Dukhan 44:38

وَما خَلَقنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما لٰعِبينَ

We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in play.

Ad-Dukhan 44:39

ما خَلَقنٰهُما إِلّا بِالحَقِّ وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَهُم لا يَعلَمونَ

We created them only in truth, but most of them do not know.

Ad-Dukhan 44:40

إِنَّ يَومَ الفَصلِ ميقٰتُهُم أَجمَعينَ

The Day of Separation is the appointed time for them all,

Ad-Dukhan 44:41

يَومَ لا يُغنى مَولًى عَن مَولًى شَيـًٔا وَلا هُم يُنصَرونَ

The day when no ally will avail an ally at all, nor will they be helped,

Ad-Dukhan 44:42

إِلّا مَن رَحِمَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ العَزيزُ الرَّحيمُ

Except one on whom The God has mercy; He is the Almighty, the Especially Merciful.

Ad-Dukhan 44:43

إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ الزَّقّومِ

Indeed, the tree of Zaqqum,

Ad-Dukhan 44:44

طَعامُ الأَثيمِ

Is the food of the sinful,

Ad-Dukhan 44:45

كَالمُهلِ يَغلى فِى البُطونِ

Like molten metal, boiling in the bellies,

Ad-Dukhan 44:46

كَغَلىِ الحَميمِ

Like the boiling of scalding water.

Ad-Dukhan 44:47

خُذوهُ فَاعتِلوهُ إِلىٰ سَواءِ الجَحيمِ

Seize him and drag him into the midst of the blazing fire.

Ad-Dukhan 44:48

ثُمَّ صُبّوا فَوقَ رَأسِهِ مِن عَذابِ الحَميمِ

Then pour over his head some of the punishment of scalding water.

Ad-Dukhan 44:49

ذُق إِنَّكَ أَنتَ العَزيزُ الكَريمُ

Taste! You are indeed the mighty, the honored!

Ad-Dukhan 44:50

إِنَّ هٰذا ما كُنتُم بِهِ تَمتَرونَ

This is what you used to doubt.

Ad-Dukhan 44:51

إِنَّ المُتَّقينَ فى مَقامٍ أَمينٍ

The mindful are in a secure place,

Ad-Dukhan 44:52

فى جَنّٰتٍ وَعُيونٍ

Amid gardens and springs,

Ad-Dukhan 44:53

يَلبَسونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِستَبرَقٍ مُتَقٰبِلينَ

Wearing fine silk and heavy brocade, facing one another.

Ad-Dukhan 44:54

كَذٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجنٰهُم بِحورٍ عينٍ

Thus it is; and We paired them with wide-eyed houris.

Ad-Dukhan 44:55

يَدعونَ فيها بِكُلِّ فٰكِهَةٍ ءامِنينَ

There they call for every kind of fruit, secure.

Ad-Dukhan 44:56

لا يَذوقونَ فيهَا المَوتَ إِلَّا المَوتَةَ الأولىٰ ۖ وَوَقىٰهُم عَذابَ الجَحيمِ

They will taste no death there beyond the first death, and He protected them from the punishment of the blazing fire,

Ad-Dukhan 44:57

فَضلًا مِن رَبِّكَ ۚ ذٰلِكَ هُوَ الفَوزُ العَظيمُ

As a favor from your Lord; that is the great triumph.

Ad-Dukhan 44:58

فَإِنَّما يَسَّرنٰهُ بِلِسانِكَ لَعَلَّهُم يَتَذَكَّرونَ

We have made it easy in your language, so that they may take heed.

Ad-Dukhan 44:59

فَارتَقِب إِنَّهُم مُرتَقِبونَ

So wait; they too are waiting.
