بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

In the name of The God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Al-Mujadilah 58:1

قَد سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَولَ الَّتى تُجٰدِلُكَ فى زَوجِها وَتَشتَكى إِلَى اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ يَسمَعُ تَحاوُرَكُما ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَميعٌ بَصيرٌ

The God has heard the words of the woman who disputes with you about her husband and complains to The God. The God hears your exchange; The God is Hearing and Seeing.

Al-Mujadilah 58:2

الَّذينَ يُظٰهِرونَ مِنكُم مِن نِسائِهِم ما هُنَّ أُمَّهٰتِهِم ۖ إِن أُمَّهٰتُهُم إِلَّا الّٰـٔى وَلَدنَهُم ۚ وَإِنَّهُم لَيَقولونَ مُنكَرًا مِنَ القَولِ وَزورًا ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفورٌ

Those among you who liken their wives to their mothers’ backs—their wives are not their mothers. Their mothers are only those who gave birth to them. They utter an objectionable saying and a falsehood; The God is Pardoning and Forgiving.

Al-Mujadilah 58:3

وَالَّذينَ يُظٰهِرونَ مِن نِسائِهِم ثُمَّ يَعودونَ لِما قالوا فَتَحريرُ رَقَبَةٍ مِن قَبلِ أَن يَتَماسّا ۚ ذٰلِكُم توعَظونَ بِهِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِما تَعمَلونَ خَبيرٌ

Those who liken their wives to their mothers’ backs and then go back on what they said must free a slave before the two touch one another. That is what you are admonished with; The God is aware of what you do.

Al-Mujadilah 58:4

فَمَن لَم يَجِد فَصِيامُ شَهرَينِ مُتَتابِعَينِ مِن قَبلِ أَن يَتَماسّا ۖ فَمَن لَم يَستَطِع فَإِطعامُ سِتّينَ مِسكينًا ۚ ذٰلِكَ لِتُؤمِنوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسولِهِ ۚ وَتِلكَ حُدودُ اللَّهِ ۗ وَلِلكٰفِرينَ عَذابٌ أَليمٌ

Whoever cannot find one must fast for two consecutive months before the two touch one another. Whoever is unable must feed sixty needy people. This is so that you may believe in The God and His messenger. These are the limits of The God; for the disbelievers there is a painful punishment.

Al-Mujadilah 58:5

إِنَّ الَّذينَ يُحادّونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسولَهُ كُبِتوا كَما كُبِتَ الَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم ۚ وَقَد أَنزَلنا ءايٰتٍ بَيِّنٰتٍ ۚ وَلِلكٰفِرينَ عَذابٌ مُهينٌ

Those who oppose The God and His messenger are brought low, as those before them were brought low. We have sent down clear signs; for the disbelievers there is a humiliating punishment.

Al-Mujadilah 58:6

يَومَ يَبعَثُهُمُ اللَّهُ جَميعًا فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِما عَمِلوا ۚ أَحصىٰهُ اللَّهُ وَنَسوهُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَىءٍ شَهيدٌ

On the day The God raises them all, He will inform them of what they did. The God has counted it, while they have forgotten it; The God is witness over all things.

Al-Mujadilah 58:7

أَلَم تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعلَمُ ما فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَما فِى الأَرضِ ۖ ما يَكونُ مِن نَجوىٰ ثَلٰثَةٍ إِلّا هُوَ رابِعُهُم وَلا خَمسَةٍ إِلّا هُوَ سادِسُهُم وَلا أَدنىٰ مِن ذٰلِكَ وَلا أَكثَرَ إِلّا هُوَ مَعَهُم أَينَ ما كانوا ۖ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِما عَمِلوا يَومَ القِيٰمَةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَىءٍ عَليمٌ

Have you not seen that The God knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth? There is no private conversation of three without Him being their fourth, nor of five without Him being their sixth, nor fewer or more than that without Him being with them wherever they are. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will inform them of what they did. The God knows all things.

Al-Mujadilah 58:8

أَلَم تَرَ إِلَى الَّذينَ نُهوا عَنِ النَّجوىٰ ثُمَّ يَعودونَ لِما نُهوا عَنهُ وَيَتَنٰجَونَ بِالإِثمِ وَالعُدوٰنِ وَمَعصِيَتِ الرَّسولِ وَإِذا جاءوكَ حَيَّوكَ بِما لَم يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ اللَّهُ وَيَقولونَ فى أَنفُسِهِم لَولا يُعَذِّبُنَا اللَّهُ بِما نَقولُ ۚ حَسبُهُم جَهَنَّمُ يَصلَونَها ۖ فَبِئسَ المَصيرُ

Have you not seen those who were forbidden private conversations, then return to what they were forbidden and confer about sin, aggression, and disobedience to the messenger? When they come to you, they greet you with a greeting The God has not given you, and say within themselves, “Why does The God not punish us for what we say?” Hell is enough for them; they will burn in it. What an evil destination.

Al-Mujadilah 58:9

يٰأَيُّهَا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا إِذا تَنٰجَيتُم فَلا تَتَنٰجَوا بِالإِثمِ وَالعُدوٰنِ وَمَعصِيَتِ الرَّسولِ وَتَنٰجَوا بِالبِرِّ وَالتَّقوىٰ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذى إِلَيهِ تُحشَرونَ

O you who believe, when you confer privately, do not confer about sin, aggression, and disobedience to the messenger. Confer about goodness and mindfulness, and be mindful of The God, to whom you will be gathered.

Al-Mujadilah 58:10

إِنَّمَا النَّجوىٰ مِنَ الشَّيطٰنِ لِيَحزُنَ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَلَيسَ بِضارِّهِم شَيـًٔا إِلّا بِإِذنِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَليَتَوَكَّلِ المُؤمِنونَ

Private conversation is from Satan, to grieve those who believe; yet he cannot harm them at all except by the permission of The God. Let the believers place their trust in The God.

Al-Mujadilah 58:11

يٰأَيُّهَا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا إِذا قيلَ لَكُم تَفَسَّحوا فِى المَجٰلِسِ فَافسَحوا يَفسَحِ اللَّهُ لَكُم ۖ وَإِذا قيلَ انشُزوا فَانشُزوا يَرفَعِ اللَّهُ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا مِنكُم وَالَّذينَ أوتُوا العِلمَ دَرَجٰتٍ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِما تَعمَلونَ خَبيرٌ

O you who believe, when you are told to make room in gatherings, make room; The God will make room for you. When you are told to rise, rise. The God will raise those among you who believe and those given knowledge by degrees. The God is aware of what you do.

Al-Mujadilah 58:12

يٰأَيُّهَا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا إِذا نٰجَيتُمُ الرَّسولَ فَقَدِّموا بَينَ يَدَى نَجوىٰكُم صَدَقَةً ۚ ذٰلِكَ خَيرٌ لَكُم وَأَطهَرُ ۚ فَإِن لَم تَجِدوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفورٌ رَحيمٌ

O you who believe, when you consult the messenger privately, offer a charity before your consultation. That is better for you and purer. If you find nothing, The God is Forgiving and Merciful.

Al-Mujadilah 58:13

ءَأَشفَقتُم أَن تُقَدِّموا بَينَ يَدَى نَجوىٰكُم صَدَقٰتٍ ۚ فَإِذ لَم تَفعَلوا وَتابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيكُم فَأَقيمُوا الصَّلوٰةَ وَءاتُوا الزَّكوٰةَ وَأَطيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسولَهُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ خَبيرٌ بِما تَعمَلونَ

Were you afraid to offer charities before your private consultations? Since you did not do so and The God has turned toward you, establish prayer, give zakat, and obey The God and His messenger. The God is aware of what you do.

Al-Mujadilah 58:14

أَلَم تَرَ إِلَى الَّذينَ تَوَلَّوا قَومًا غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيهِم ما هُم مِنكُم وَلا مِنهُم وَيَحلِفونَ عَلَى الكَذِبِ وَهُم يَعلَمونَ

Have you not seen those who ally themselves with a people upon whom The God is angry? They belong neither to you nor to them, and they knowingly swear to falsehood.

Al-Mujadilah 58:15

أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُم عَذابًا شَديدًا ۖ إِنَّهُم ساءَ ما كانوا يَعمَلونَ

The God has prepared a severe punishment for them. Evil indeed is what they used to do.

Al-Mujadilah 58:16

اتَّخَذوا أَيمٰنَهُم جُنَّةً فَصَدّوا عَن سَبيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَهُم عَذابٌ مُهينٌ

They have taken their oaths as a shield and barred the way of The God; for them there is a humiliating punishment.

Al-Mujadilah 58:17

لَن تُغنِىَ عَنهُم أَموٰلُهُم وَلا أَولٰدُهُم مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيـًٔا ۚ أُولٰئِكَ أَصحٰبُ النّارِ ۖ هُم فيها خٰلِدونَ

Their wealth and children will avail them nothing against The God. They are the companions of the Fire, remaining in it forever.

Al-Mujadilah 58:18

يَومَ يَبعَثُهُمُ اللَّهُ جَميعًا فَيَحلِفونَ لَهُ كَما يَحلِفونَ لَكُم ۖ وَيَحسَبونَ أَنَّهُم عَلىٰ شَىءٍ ۚ أَلا إِنَّهُم هُمُ الكٰذِبونَ

On the day The God raises them all, they will swear to Him as they swear to you, thinking they stand on something. Indeed, they are the liars.

Al-Mujadilah 58:19

استَحوَذَ عَلَيهِمُ الشَّيطٰنُ فَأَنسىٰهُم ذِكرَ اللَّهِ ۚ أُولٰئِكَ حِزبُ الشَّيطٰنِ ۚ أَلا إِنَّ حِزبَ الشَّيطٰنِ هُمُ الخٰسِرونَ

Satan has gained mastery over them and made them forget the remembrance of The God. They are Satan’s party. Indeed, Satan’s party are the losers.

Al-Mujadilah 58:20

إِنَّ الَّذينَ يُحادّونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسولَهُ أُولٰئِكَ فِى الأَذَلّينَ

Those who oppose The God and His messenger are among the most abased.

Al-Mujadilah 58:21

كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَأَغلِبَنَّ أَنا۠ وَرُسُلى ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزيزٌ

The God has written, “I and My messengers will surely prevail.” The God is Strong and Mighty.

Al-Mujadilah 58:22

لا تَجِدُ قَومًا يُؤمِنونَ بِاللَّهِ وَاليَومِ الـٔاخِرِ يُوادّونَ مَن حادَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسولَهُ وَلَو كانوا ءاباءَهُم أَو أَبناءَهُم أَو إِخوٰنَهُم أَو عَشيرَتَهُم ۚ أُولٰئِكَ كَتَبَ فى قُلوبِهِمُ الإيمٰنَ وَأَيَّدَهُم بِروحٍ مِنهُ ۖ وَيُدخِلُهُم جَنّٰتٍ تَجرى مِن تَحتِهَا الأَنهٰرُ خٰلِدينَ فيها ۚ رَضِىَ اللَّهُ عَنهُم وَرَضوا عَنهُ ۚ أُولٰئِكَ حِزبُ اللَّهِ ۚ أَلا إِنَّ حِزبَ اللَّهِ هُمُ المُفلِحونَ

You will not find a people who believe in The God and the Last Day showing affection to those who oppose The God and His messenger, even if they are their fathers, sons, brothers, or kin. He has written faith in their hearts and strengthened them with a spirit from Him. He will admit them into gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will remain forever. The God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. They are the party of The God. Indeed, the party of The God are the successful.
